📢 Exciting news from inCitu! We’re honored to announce our spot in the TOP 3 finalists for the QBE resilience challenge, driven by Australian Red Cross Humanitech, Leading Cities, and backed by QBE Insurance. 🌍

🔎Our team learned so much through the incredible curriculum and presenters brought together by our track leaders. One key theme regarding humanitarian tech was the need for more investment in communities before disasters take place, and how strengthening social and imagination infrastructures can be more effective than building hard infrastructure alone.

💭In our work with cities, AEC professionals and community advocates, we've already seen how inCitu can be a powerful platform for bringing transformative built environment projects to life-- but this program helped us hone in on our bigger theory of change: how coming together in real life and using inCitu to experience proposed futures on-site might strengthen our capacity to discuss and navigate change collectively. We believe that as a regular practice, immersive experiences like inCituAR can boost trust, create more engaged cities, and foster communities that can respond better together to the 21st century challenges yet to be experienced.

🌠As an AcceliCITY finalist, inCitu is excited to test our theory of change with our pilot proposal, further develop our tech roadmap, and explore new partnerships to bridge the gap between urban/regional planning and the people it impacts.

🌟inCitu was one of the top 100 resilience solutions selected for the Leading Cities QBE AcceliCITY Resilience Challenge from over 740 submissions!

As a participant in the humanitarian track hosted by the Humanitech initiative of the Australian Red Cross, we've had the privilege of gaining incredible insights from global experts to enhance our offering for the humanitarian use case, and exploring how augmented reality can bolster imagination around our collective futures, create meaningful conversations about the future that bring people together, and accelerate local climate resilience.

Last year, we brought our vision for AR as an empowering tool for unlocking public engagement with the future of cities. This year we arrived with a tangible product, clients, and a growing user community of immersive innovators building the skills and best practices for leveraging AR for transformative engagement🤳 ✨ 🌎

Last month during , inCitu supported a tour of Washington DC’s U Street neighborhood led by Communities by Design focusing on development conflict in the area and the role of the architect in finding solutions.

The tour highlighted the work of Architects Foundation board member Michael Marshall, FAIA, whose firm is tackling the redevelopment of the Reeves Center, DC’s largest municipal services center, which occupies the geographically, historically, and culturally significant 14th Street and U Street intersection.

For the last year, inCitu's street activation at 14th and U has allowed the public to view this proposed redevelopment in augmented reality. Have a look if you are in the area!

This week, inCitu was in Denver, Colorado with our partners from the Colorado Smart Cities Alliance and Colorado University, to mark our graduation from the inaugural Smart Futures Lab Accelerator. ✨🎓
