✨November is National Diabetes Month, and you might be thinking, “Okay… but what does that have to do with dentistry?”
Having high blood sugar can weaken your white blood cells, and these are the cells that fight oral infections. Gum disease can also be more severe or take longer to heal if you have diabetes.
We like to recommend that our patients with diabetes take extra care of their teeth and gums, come in every three months, watch for these signs of excessive dryness, infections, bleeding gums and tooth decay.
