CLIP OF THE DAY In honor of the 90th birthday of one of filmdom's most iconic stars, SOPHIA LOREN, FILM Archives presents this 1965 newsreel that features the legendary Charlie Chaplin introducing Loren as the star of his upcoming film, THE COUNTESS. The film was released in 1967 as THE COUNTESS FROM HONG KONG and was Chaplin's final film. So, Happy Birthday to the ever radiant Sophia Loren.

The ship was a faithful reproduction of the original built to retrace the journey across the Atlantic that eventually led to the founding of America. So, Happy Mayflower Day to all!
In honor of International Chocolate Day, FILM Archives reaches back to 1964 when a clever chocolate syrup manufacturer combined the sweet treat with the country's Space Mania to create, CLANKY, THE CHOCOLATE SYRUP SPACEMAN. Fun animated commercial has Clanky landing on a seemingly alien landscape and immediately surrounded by Earth children (!?!) who sing to Clanky in praise of his Chocolate dispensing powers. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but who cares when Chocolate syrup just makes everything so...chocolatey. We hope Clanky pays you a visit today.
In Honor of National Video Games Day (yes, that's real), FILM Archives reaches back to 1985 to present one of the first commercials to introduce the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) to video gamers in the United States. In addition to better game play than rival systems, the NES came with R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy) to aide in game play. The NES went on to become a mainstay of living rooms throughout the U.S. R.O.B. did not.

Armstrong agrees and gives the Boys a true lesson in the rights of the individual.
