Wishing all a happy 4th and a safe one
I want to thank everyone for your support, well wishes and prayers during my recent surgery. I am well on the road to recovery now and recuperating at my daughter Heidi’s home. I’ll look forward to being back at home and seeing you in our community very soon.
Wishing everyone a wonderful 2022
Please join me alongside Assemblyman Hevesi, Senator Toby Ann Stavisky, and Assemblywoman Grace Meng tomorrow, Tuesday, April 3rd, at 5:30pm to protest against the unfair closure of the Queens Community House Beacon Program at Russel Sage JHS 190.
The city’s proposal to close this vital program simply because it falls under a “wealthier” zip code would be devastating for hundreds of families throughout the borough, including many working parents who rely on the free afterschool activities to keep their children busy while they are at their jobs.

Forest Hills Beacon School Could Close July 1 After announcement, group fights closure of local after school program.
In February, I visited Israel with Speaker Quinn and the Jewish Community Relations Council. The 10-day trip explored a diverse range of topics and site visits, including a tour and discussion with the president of Technion (Israel Institute of Technology), which will establish the new applied science and engineering campus on New York City’s Roosevelt Island! Being in Israel is always an incredibly moving and wonderful experience.
Attending the Amusement Music Owners Association Annual Gala with Peter Yarrow from Peter, Paul and Mary! The AMOA represents small and medium size businesses that have worked hard and have a long and successful history of bringing music and amusement games to New York City. As chair of the Economic Development Committee, I am proud to support their achievements to our city.
Please join me tonight, March 28th, for my Women's History Month 2012 Celebration: 7pm - American Legion Hall-10715 Metropolitan Avenue- Forest Hills. Performance by the Gingerbread Performers, Awards, Poster and Essay Contest and Light Refreshments. Hope to see you there!
