Built to out race the world's fastest sailboats in the 1924 International Fisherman's Cup, Pilot has become one of America's most prized wooden schooners. Over the course of her nearly 100 years she's led many lives: as the country's longest serving pilot ship, as a ferry for soldiers in World War II, and as a research vessel that circumnavigated the world twice.

Pilot celebrates her 98th birthday this week! She was launched September 30th, 1924 and truly has seen it all, from patrolling the coast in WWII to exploring the south pacific with Jacques Cousteau to serving up oysters and cocktails in Brooklyn. We’ll be going strong for another month or so. We’d love to have you aboard!
