****Former Ferals in their Natural Habitat!****
(i.e., soft blankets, surrounded by toys, basking in adoration….naturally!)
👏🏽👏🏽for all the Ollie’s adoptions we forgot to announce so far in 2024!
For those of you who met this batch of kitties you probably saw them when they had seen better days and had lost some of their spark. Hope was barely a glimmer amidst goopy eyes, rough fur, infected ears, bout after bout of stomatitis, countlese dentals, pills, syringes, and more pills 😩, bite gloves and screaming during meds 🩸 (you know who you are 🤠, 🧡🤎), nail biter health emergencies, hiding, and shelter fatigue/depression. Their journies have been long and exhausting (these are not spring chickens)- for them and everyone involved.
We will always be completely incredulous at the transformations these brave creatures make partially under our care and then fully with their forever humans. Here are the moments we live for, enjoy!!
(we are tired!)
This is exactly how lives are saved- a moment of blind compassion followed by support from NYC’s incredible cat loving community! 💪🏼💰
❤️🐞Please help one of our volunteers who spur of the moment snatched up this sad angel, Ladybug a few weeks ago. 🐞❤️
Thanks to her selfless rescuer and her loving foster, Ladybug’s rehabilitation has been incredible- coming out of her broken shell a little bit? ☑️ earmites treated? ☑️ years of suffering on the cold, mean streets, completely behind her? ☑️ bloodwork and vetting? ☑️
But she needs a serious dental ASAP for this glow up to be complete and the first $800 raised was used up in her initial transports, care, and vetting 😿. Imagine how long her mouth has been full of rotting, infected teeth- and the answer would for years to come had she not been rescued! 😖
Any little bit you can contribute will take her one step closer to forever home life!!
Thank-you!!

Thanks to everyone who donated to save Pumpkin’s life a few weeks ago (it worked!) but the initial $2600 raised was all used up on him. Purple, the sweet heart murmur kitty still needs our help and her rescuers are starting from zero now 😿. The cardiologist has cleared her for a spay 🎉 but her $600 echocardiogram bill is unpaid and that needs to be addressed before they will do any more work. She is MISERABLE in heat (and so is her hero of a foster mom)- can we meet the goal or at least get to the $4,500 mark on the GFM ASAP? She needs an experienced spay because of her heart and will be on our foster payroll for awhile because special needs homes are few and far between! The minute they hit $4K the appointment will be made! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

🙏🏽Squeeks Needs You! 🙏🏽
And Welcome Back to Ollie’s Place Squeeks😿
Through NO fault of her own, our blind angel Squeeks is back with us after a short stay with a potential adopter. Squeeks was described as the perfect house guest- immaculate litter box habits, great appetite, quiet at night (and polite in the mornings), very affectionate and relaxed, no hiding or shyness! Even seeking affection!! Content in a small apartment as long as she has ample cat trees and beds! She was a complete natural at lounging in the lap of luxury which makes this even more devastating. 😿
We are looking for a seasoned and committed home- ideally with blind kitty experience. Squeeks like many blind cats and frankly most rescues, panics when her feet are off the ground, in a carrier or at the vet. She is gentle but squirmy, strong, and vocal at nail trimming and pill time (needs gabapentin for vet visits). A piece of cake for real cat people but perhaps intimidating to others. She will be easy once she builds trust and is a piece of cake for us volunteers.
Sharing photos of her in a home- relaxed, blissed out, confident. You will only get to see her this way at Ollie’s if you stay after hours when the lights are out ☺️. So please take a leap of faith and commit to giving this incredible former feral the cozy life she deserves. She has been so depressed since she is back. Let’s do this!!!

PUMPKIN NEEDS US URGENTLY! HELP US RESTORE THIS GLORIOUS CREATURE BACK TO HEALTH!! 🧡🤍
He has become very sick in the past 48 hours and cannot keep any food or meds down. He is nauseated and miserable. This is very bad news as he is not part of any group- and the kind souls who pulled him from the streets a few weeks ago are in a huge bind. In addition to the neuter and vaccines which are complete, they are out $500 from a vet appt yesterday and have a critical sedated exam with x-rays tomorrow which all said and done will be over $1K not including cabs 😭. And that could be just the beginning! Unfortunately, $2K-$5K is now the price of admission to the rescue/rehabilitation game in NYC (per cat!) yet that doesn’t make any of these angels less deserving. It just means we need more collective power 🧿🪬
Manifest this baby’s glow up and support small rescues who are always in over their heads but doing the city’s essential work! 🙏🏽
Will introduce you to Miss Purple soon, but first let’s save this precious, highly adoptable boy who could have such a bright future!

*Courtesy Post* Help!! Urgent Foster Needed! Pumpkin is too friendly for TNR! 🧡🤍🧡🤍
By providing a safe haven (a mere room!) for just a few weeks/months you could be the hero that allows this sweet, chatty boy a path to a forever home instead of a short, sad life outdoors in the cold Brooklyn streets.
Two weeks ago, friends of our group picked up this adorable stray who had been begging for help for months- surely a dumped house cat. He has now been successfully neutered, vaxxed, is FIV/FeLV negative, and estimated to be just a few years old if that. But all fosters have vanished, leaving his rescuers with a hard decision if they don’t find help today. They just need to buy a few weeks while they continue to look for his forever home! If you have cat experience, no other pets, or a quarantine/foster room please help! Adopters welcome too! Pumpkin can pair with chill cats/dog once his quarantine is up and open to ‘foster to adopt’ with the right situation!
Contact [email protected] and [email protected] for more details or to inquire about fostering!
*Reminder that good samaritans who take these huge financial and emotional risks to save NYC’s suffering cats have careers, families, their own rescue animals, travel….they are not paid, the city doesn’t lift a finger. They are doing these things on their lunch breaks or late at night instead of eating dinner with their families. They can do the brunt of the work but they cant bring them all into their homes. Everyone can assist with the current cat crisis by fostering even once a year. 🙏🏽

Meet Pal! This charming one year old cattle mix rescue from Texas has found himself in the NY/NJ area bouncing around from one foster to the next. We are stepping in to help find him his perfect forever match once and for all- a person with ample time to provide this charismatic boy with exercise, play, and LOVE! Pal has a joyful spirt and zest for life. He just wants to spend his days frolicking and adventuring with his trusted human.

**COURTESY POST- SWEET HAZEL NEEDS A HOME!***
Hazel was an unwanted 'gift kitten' about to fall into the dark world of online animal sales- destined to be a baby making machine for life. That is until some good samaritans joined forces to buy her instead! Just like that, this sweet kitty was safe and sound, and has been enjoying life in her fun foster room as she recovers from her spay! Now she is ready to find her forever family!
Hazel is a dainty, timid, kitty who takes time to warm up to new people but true to her breed, she is very social and affectionate with HER human, which is currently her foster mom. She loves to play and be silly, especially at night, and is a total purr monster! She has a little squeaky meow and is starting to communicate via chirps, so assume that she will develop into a highly vocal cat as most Siamese do.
Siamese cats are intelligent, curious, social animals who require enrichment and attention, and are known to be one of the neediest breeds. We are looking for humans that have plenty of time to devote to Hazel. She is doing moderately well with a slow introduction to the resident female cat, and we anticipate that with an experienced adopter she will be able to coexist fine with other cats. She may or may not be playmate material.
-Approx 9 months old spayed, vaxxed female
-FIV/FeLV neg
-Siamese experience prefered
-open to households with other cats that have the space and experience to properly introduce
-contact [email protected] for more information, to schedule a meet and greet, or apply to adopt
-NYC area
To whoever has been following our shy Gingerbread’s journey, she is now out and about, feeling good, and loving life! 🫚🍞🧡
