It is always an honor to work so closely with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Over many years, we have formed a deeply meaningful relationship with the clubs throughout our regions. Having the opportunity to give back to the young people of our local communities, most recently with the Backpack Drive, is just one way we can exemplify our core value of youth development.

At Bozzuto, one of our main priorities is strengthening our unique culture of kindness. For nearly a decade, Bozzuto has been fostering a sense of belonging through our employee resource groups (ERGs). These eight organizations create educational programming and exciting events, where our associates can connect through shared experiences and allyship. The dedication and passion of our ERG leaders are continually inspiring, and we are grateful to have our ERGs alongside us as we reach our diversity, equity and inclusion goals.

Andrew was born and raised in the lower east side of Manhattan and has been working as a porter at The Capitol for two years. He enjoys working out and as you see on his arm, he’s a diehard Yankee fan. The 2003 ALCS baseball game was his favorite Yankee moment!

Rise by Bozzuto held our third annual Backpack School Supply Drive supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of America during the month of July. This company-wide initiative collected and packed more than 2,800 backpacks with school essentials for children nationwide, exceeding our donation goal. Thanks to our associates, residents and Community Champions, we have the privilege to support our local youth in reaching their fullest potential.

Our incredible associates are redefining sanctuary on the West Coast. From Los Angeles to San Francisco to Seattle, we are committed to delivering an extraordinary living experience for our residents.

A 1996 graduate, Toby joined the board in 2016, serving on multiple committees, including as the Chair of the University Resources Committee. This month, Bozzuto’s summer interns had the opportunity to give back to their local communities during our annual Rise by Bozzuto intern volunteer outing. Across the country, they tended to community gardens, worked in food banks and helped at local Boys and Girls Clubs. We’re grateful our interns had the opportunity to learn more about our corporate social responsibility efforts while giving back to the communities we serve.

Bozzuto's communities were filled with laughter and smiles during our second annual Tiny Tykes Takeover. Hosted by our employee resource group, Parents and Caregivers Together (PACT), this event gave associates the opportunity to make lasting memories with their little ones with fun activities and a delightful brunch. Thank you to PACT for organizing such a meaningful event.

We are incredibly proud to announce that three leaders across Bozzuto were honored at Globe St.’s Women of Influence Awards this week. We extend our congratulations to Dawn Beckles, Senior Vice President of Accounting and Financial Services for Bozzuto Management (Corporate Real Estate Executive honor), Chintimini Keith, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications (Marketing/Communications Professional honor) and Caroline Sullivan, Director of Business Development for Bozzuto Construction (Rising Star honor). With the tremendous kindness shown by our associates and residents, Rise by Bozzuto has rallied more than 245 properties and our corporate offices to participate in our third annual Backpack and School Supply Drive. President and CEO Toby Bozzuto was honored as a guest lecturer for Harvard University’s Advanced Management Development Program. He explained to a packed room of engaged students that it is a moral imperative for businesses to give back to the world, and to operate in a manner that is highly ethical, kind and compassionate. He went on to describe his aspirations for Bozzuto to be a paradigm of civility, which we call a culture of kindness.

Toby concluded his remarks by emphasizing, “Simply put, there is a social benefit for us to be in business. Companies have an obligation to use their success to make an impact on the communities we serve.”
