Videos by Teresa's Ecstasy in New York. Teresa's Ecstasy by Begonya Plaza - Previewed March 4, and opened March 14, 2012 at Cherry Lane Theatre, in NYC. The play ran through April 1st, 2012. Cast: Shawn Elliott, Linda Larkin, Begonya Plaza. Directed: William Pomerantz #newyorktheatre
Begonya's full-length, three-character stage play "Teresa's Ecstasy" premiered at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York's Greenwich Village, on February 28, 2012, with Linda Larkin as Becky, Shawn Elliott (rip) as Andrés, and Begonya as Carlotta.
Her funny, romantic, and thought-provoking drama is loosely based on aspects of her life, and the importance for questioning the self that Saint Teresa of Avila inspired in her.
This piece of theatre is a powerful showcase for consummate actors, it takes place in Barcelona, spoken in English (though can be translated to Spanish) and it wrestles with themes of religion, science, love, truth, and the mysticism without the trappings, in the end it's about power.

“Beware of having unintended spiritual epiphanies. Begonya Plaza’s new play, TERESA’S ECSTASY, is about the unexpected influence of Saint Teresa of Avila, a 16th-century Carmelite nun, on modern-day Carlotta, a Spanish writer… The well-written, touching and often funny drama…”
Jennifer Farrar, Associated Press
“…TERESA’S ECSTASY, a sumptuous three-person comic drama about sex, love and spirituality…”
