Who’s ready for the Oscars? I'm thrilled to see that casting is finally being recognized at the Oscars in 2025! This decision stands as a testament to the collective efforts and the sheer love for the craft of bringing visions to life in entertainment.
It's a well-deserved recognition for all Casting Directors who pour their passion and dedication into every casting choice simultaneously becoming a huge part of every narrative that makes it on the big screen.
Unfortunately, sometimes Casting Directors do not always receive the recognition they deserve. However, this award is a step in the right direction that will hopefully lead to a greater understanding and appreciation for the role of Casting Directors beyond the filmmaking process in all production mediums.
Congratulations to all of the Casting Directors who were an integral part of the award-nominated films this weekend. Cheers to creating the magic behind the scenes and the continued celebration of the art of casting. 🎬💫
Oscars Introduces First New Category In Decades: Best Casting The same category is gaining popularity among awards shows as it was also added by the British film and TV academy in 2020.

Add more in the comments below! 👇🏼✨
1. Hone Your Craft: Start with acting classes and develop a versatile skill set in various genres to expand your range as an actor. Try comedy, drama, and even improvisation and explore opportunities in theater, film, television, voice-over, and commercials to broaden your experience.
2. Build Your Portfolio: Current headshots are key. Create a reel that showcases your range. (Make sure they look like you!)
3. Network, Network, Network: Attend industry events (virtual or in person), join acting groups, and stay active on platforms where casting calls are posted.
4. Take care of yourself: Make sure to prioritize self-care & manage stress as acting could be physically and emotionally demanding. This will help you maintain a positive mindset and be ready to tackle any challenges that come your way!
5. Stay Resilient: This is a business; rejection in the process is common, so don’t be disheartened by setbacks. Remain persistent in pursuing your goals, stay motivated - keep learning, growing, and most importantly, keep auditioning! 💫 🎬

Get ready for the “bestest bears ever”! 🏈✨We are thrilled to share this Haribo commercial, featuring the voices of kids we cast nationwide across the U.S.
Everyone knows - kids always speak the truth from their hearts. During our voice-over recording, it was a priority to capture the organic and spontaneous comments from the kids who were enjoying eating Haribo Goldbears, adding a touch of genuine wonder to the campaign.
We had so much fun working on this commercial with the Quiet Storm Agency & HARIBO USA team! From brainstorming sessions to all the laughter in the room, what a memorable production! 💓
Thank you LBBonline - Little Black Book and Ben Conway for this interview, highlighting Kristen's entrepreneurial journey in establishing Paladino Casting!

Embracing Unconventional Casting to Find Authentic Greatness | LBBOnline Little Black Book, Paladino Casting founder Kristen Paladino tells LBB’s Ben Conway about her entrepreneurial journey and passion for human interaction, and the unique approach that’s led to work with Google, Pepsi, Dior and more
Ever wonder what drives a Casting Director? For me, it’s about preparation meets opportunity. Here are a few insights and tips on how to get started in acting:
Embrace Every Opportunity: Every role, no matter how small, is a step towards growth.
Stay True to Your Craft: In a world of comparisons, focus on honing your skills and being authentic in your performances.
Networking is Key: Attend industry events and workshops virtual & in-person, and stay active where casting calls are posted.
Casting is a Creative Process: As a Casting Director, I look for that unique spark that aligns with the project's needs and inspires me creatively.
Patience and Persistence: Success in this industry doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a journey of continuous learning, adapting, and, most importantly, believing in yourself.
Share your story, dreams, and the steps you're taking to make them a reality. Let’s inspire each other on this acting journey! 🎭✨
New York is where I started my career, discovering new talent on the bustling streets of the city.
Over the years the industry has changed, but no matter what city I’m in or what project we’re working on, there is one thing that has always been the same...
Casting has always been about finding that magic moment when that 'perfect-for-the-project' spark in talent comes through and you know you’ve discovered what you were looking for.
I’m grateful to follow the unfolding moments now and then!
Keep Feeding Your Creativity.
Just like our minds and souls, our creativity thrives when nurtured. Whether you're prepping for a role or navigating daily life, taking time to immerse yourself in art, music, or nature can be the refresher your mental well-being needs.
Remember, your creative spirit isn't just for auditions; it's a powerful tool for mental resilience. So, this week, let's prioritize both our creative endeavors and our mental health. 💫
🌟 Casting Tip 🌟: Own Your Craft 🎭
Most projects are still requesting self-tapes and remote auditions.
This means that actors have a unique chance to bring us into YOUR world!
Remember, you're in the driver's seat.
Dive deep into casting directions, get inventive with your surroundings, and most importantly, have fun!
Let your talent and creativity shine through.
The human condition of connecting with people has always been my driving force.
This is what inspired me to become a business owner, why I’m motivated to pave the way for other female entrepreneurs in this space, and why I cherish working alongside my incredible team...it’s about making a real difference in people’s lives.
It's what I fell in love with when I started casting, and it’s why I'm passionate about what I do every day.
Providing those golden opportunities amidst the industry's many 'no's', and seeing someone shine in roles they've only dreamt of.
To all aspiring talent, your efforts don't go unnoticed. 💫
Casting isn't just about what meets the eye. It's the art of identifying those who can truly embody a character and captivate with their story. What I seek is that immediate connection that draws the audience in.
Evaluating talent goes beyond just raw skills. Some talent have an undeniable presence right when they enter the room, while others unveil their brilliance gradually. Can greatness be learned? To an extent, yes, with the right mentorship, training and opportunities. And matching that talent to the perfect role? That's where my responsibility lies.
What sets great talent apart is their passion, dedication, and self-confidence. When you walk into an audition, it’s not about “I'm going to read these lines and be great.” I love seeing talent make a choice and stay true to it but are also open to adjusting the feedback they receive. Trust your instincts. They take you farther than you think.
✨
The stellar advice from the brilliant : “Stay authentic to yourself and your sensibilities, whether you’re an actor, dancer, singer, writer.” (This gem is a life mantra too.)
Shine by being authentic and showcasing what makes YOU unique. After all, nobody can do “you” better than you! ✨
🌟 Spotlight on Wisdom & Authenticity 🌟
What truly sets an actor apart in the 🌪️wild entertainment world 🎬, where countless talents vie for their moment under the spotlight? It's not just their skills or their looks, but the authenticity they bring to every role.
From auditions to on-screen performances, authenticity is the ✨magic that sets an actor apart. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan beautifully reminds us all:
🔹 "Take time to get to know yourself and all of your quirks and differences." 🔹
At Paladino Casting, we champion individuality and celebrate the unique spark in every talent. Dive deep, embrace your authentic self, and let it shine through every performance.
Share with us: What's one quirk or difference you've learned to embrace and love about yourself? 💬

We have a heavy heart today with the sudden news of the passing of Jenevieve Brewer. She was one of the first agents that we connected with from the beginning. She always managed fiercely for her very talented clients and we trusted her instincts on that. She loved developing actors careers. Everyone that has worked with her or knew her could tell that her clients were so much more - they were friends and family. Thank you for being a genuine colleague through the years and a truly kind human. You will be missed 💔🙏🏼
Thank you to everyone who worked on this project and helped to raise awareness.

Every actor is bound to face rejection. You might even hit a point where you feel like all you are hearing is “no.” But one way to master auditions is to keep doing them.
It is absolutely crucial for actors to always find new ways to challenge themselves. Take a class, create new work, or simply ask questions. If you are not growing, you are standing still.
Whenever you audition, be ready for anything. The director and CD might have you try a completely different take just to get a feel for what it is like to work with you. They look to see if you are listening, flexible, and able to take direction in the moment.
