Woohoo YES New Zealand for taking a stand for a healthy planet and looking out for the children’s future!

When I was a kid, fruit came in cardboard containers and NOTHING was wrapped in plastic. We carried a bag with us to put our fruit and veg in to keep it separate from our groceries. (According to the Lysol bottle and reports since the outbreak, Covid etc existed back then so that’s not an excuse.)

CTown Supermarkets in Floral Park needlessly wraps everything in plastic on styrofoam! I REFUSE to shop there for anything; I choose to spend my money with stores that are eco-conscious and make an effort to reduce waste.

NYC has a plastic shopping bag ban but they barely enforce it! ☹️ HELLOOOOO AMERICA it’s past time for us to stop being the #2 biggest polluter in the World!

If you point the finger at China, look around you. WE are a close #2!
If you have children, please, look around your own home. Those laundry detergent bottles do not get recycled and most of that plastic waste doesn’t either. Internet search “GPGP” the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. It is TWICE the size of Texas and THREE TIMES the size of France!!!! 😢😢😢

Not only are we floating our plastic waste in an island BUT it leaches toxins into the water, thus into the fish, thus back into us and other animals, which cycles around back to us.

We are leaving space trash on other planets. WHEN does it stop? WHERE do we stop?

When you think “It won’t effect me,” it already is.
When you look at your children, picture their near future in an ever-growing unhealthy environment.

Who Gives a Crap | Winnie the Pooh Deforested Edition Every day, 1 million trees are cut down to make regular toilet paper. We think that’s pretty crap, so we make our rolls out of recycled paper. That doesn’t mean they don’t feel great, though. Your bum won’t even know the difference! But Mama Earth sure will.

I might be "old school" but books, real books, should be preserved and children/adults in every community should have a library to go to. Libraries are not just a place to "check out a book to read at home," but sanctuaries where peace and quiet can be had, brilliant/life changing ideas can blossom, mindful education takes place with self, classes are held - often for free, groups gather, and private corners can be enjoyed. Stand up for your public library - write an email, call your local office, or just ask your Librarian who you can contact. It only takes 5 minutes (or less) and the more voices reach out, the more protection there will be.

Now they want to shut down your public library! But we're making sure that communities can fight back!

This is my last Antigua post. Can’t recommend tours enough!!!! These guys are the BEST! You have fantastic tours to choose from & can also book private tours. Yup, that’s a stingray we’re holding, in Stingray City! These rays are not captive! There is a floating doc + buoys that mark out an area to snorkel/swim/stand/interact with them but there is no net, which we loved about it. 🥰 The rays come when they hear the boat engines at the dock. Super cool, super safe & super mega! 🤿 🌎 💕

Nuclear power - pollutes everything on the planet, including us. Power that can literally destroy the entire planet. Can we not evolve past this and stop clinging to such self-destructive methods to make money? Nuclear power is not needed to create electricity. We now have much cleaner, more “in sync with the planet and us” solutions. The US and Korea, along with China, was originally against this. They met last week and China is the only one that still stands against this. 😞
