A dedicated group from Manchester, GA set about to restore and renovate this Martin Theatre, named after President Franklin D Roosevelt. This renovation/restoration will aid in bringing the performing/visual arts to our small community. Restoring the auditorium, ticket booth, installing a HVAC and sound system is our main focus this year. The 1935 historic Theatre is of art deco/ art modern design

Our Story
This 1935 Martin Theatre was old, run-down and about to be torn down! We just couldn't let that happen! A dedicated group from Manchester, GA set about to restore and renovate this Martin Theatre, named after President Franklin D Roosevelt. This renovation/restoration will aid in bringing the performing/visual arts to our small community. Restoring the auditorium, ticket booth, installing a HVAC and sound system is our main focus this year. The 1935 historic Theatre is of art deco/ art modern design. The preserved theatre will be reminiscent of the same 1935 design while embracing and incorporating technology that will sustain the theatre well into the future.
President Theatre was one of over 100 theatres Roy E. Martin Sr. of Columbus, Georgia owned. Opening on October 15, 1935, during President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's term in Washington, Mr. Martin named the theatre to honor President Roosevelt's presence in Warm Springs, a small town within the same county.
As of 2019, the President Theatre has been completely renovated and remodeled and is open for business!
