I recommend this film to all. For some weird reason, I had been resisting, as ridiculous as that may sound, learning more about it since I caught wind of it as a bestseller. The last mid-terms got me thinking about it again because of the phenomenal achievement of JD Vance, and finally, today I took some time to watch it. I tell you, it is a darn good story. Very powerful. I respect JD Vance a whole lot more right now. We belong. It is not about skin color. It is about the kindred spirit of real people who struggle against adversity of all kinds, the worst of all of which is poverty. We don’t give up. We persevere. And we prevail. We win against all odds.

Aside from the consequences of our fractured past, we are lost in a modern construct that is not our own. We live in a fast-paced world that we desperately want to belong to. We keep missing the point that to see clearly, we have to pause and reflect from time to time. We keep forgetting that we cannot achieve destiny and thrive on the construct of those who seek to keep us down. We cannot prosper on someone else's terms!
