After last year's resounding success bringing potable water to our communities in Honduras, we recently extended our water filtration program to Guatemala. A total of 460 families who previously had to either boil their drinking water or spend the little money they have to buy it directly now have sustainable, reliable access to safe, clean drinking water.
Water filters were distributed — and families trained on their use and maintenance — during one of the many community events organized and hosted by Hope for a Healthier Humanity volunteers.

Spring is officially here, which is excellent news for our thriving community gardens across Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. These gardens provide a sustainable source of food and nutrition to local families — and each community is trained on how to tend to them, encouraging collaboration and helping disrupt the cycle of dependency. Fresh family gardens are about to start sprouting for around 300 families in our Guatemalan communities. These heaps of nutritious leafy greens — lettuce, chard, quilete, onion, basil, and lemon plants, plus truckloads of organic fertilizer — were just delivered for planting.
