"God proves his love for us in a thousand ways. Simply to be, to exist, is to be loved... God loved you and willed you into being - totally unique, unrepeatable, irreplaceable. He wants to share his life with you." - Sr. Bethany Madonna
A memorable moment with Sr. Bethany Madonna, S.V., at the 10th National Eucharistic Congress:
"I remember meeting an aspiring actor on Broadway. He was on the brink of a massive reversion back to the Catholic faith of his childhood. He said he went to a Mass, and he wrestled through the whole thing. He wasn't even sure what he believed.
"The cross especially troubled him, and, just exasperated, he finally asked in his heart, 'So why'd your son have to die? I don't get that, and that's like the whole thing.'
"And he goes, 'Sister, I kid you not, God answered me. He said, 'When you love someone, you prove it.'
"When you love someone, you prove it. God proves his love. God proves his love for us in a thousand ways. Simply to be, to exist, is to be loved. ... God loved you and willed you into being—totally unique, unrepeatable, irreplaceable. He wants to share his life with you."

This November's election ballot will feature Proposal One, also known as the “Equal Rights Amendment” (ERA) by supporters, which is a proposed amendment to the NYS Constitution. In short, if approved by New York’s voters, the poorly written Prop One would make abortion at any stage a state constitutional right and could infringe on parents’ rights to make medical decisions for their children, including so-called “gender-affirming” procedures.

Cardinal Dolan speaks up for the pre-born in the NY Daily News
Timothy Cardinal Dolan decried the characterization who support the rights of the pre-born and their mothers as fanatics and called for all parties to find middle ground in an op-ed published in New York’s Daily News on Sunday, June 9.
“It’s a good time to ask just who the ‘extremists’ really are,” Cardinal Dolan wrote in the op-ed, which was published following comments from Gov. Kathy Hochul. After a May New York Court of Appeals ruling that would require all employers to provide insurance coverage that included abortion services without religious or conscientious exemption, Gov. Hochul referred to those who opposed the policy as “right-wing extremists.”

BREAKING: New York’s highest court refused to recognize the right of religious employers to be exempt from the state’s abortion mandate, requiring most private insurance plans to cover abortion, in a unanimous ruling handed down on Tuesday, May 21. "Women are incredible, and when we encourage and empower them in their motherhood, even in the most difficult situations, they become the world’s greatest heroes." - Jeanne Mancini
The world’s toughest, yet most rewarding job: Moms are heroes Mothers for all time have worked tirelessly to ensure that her child feels loved and taken care of, and that her child will live a life better than she did.
Happy Mother's Day! "The most important person on earth is a mother. She cannot claim the honor of having built Notre Dame Cathedral. She need not. She has built something more magnificent than any cathedral - a dwelling for an immortal soul, the tiny perfection of her baby's body... The angels have not been blessed with such a grace. They cannot share in God's creative miracle to bring new saints to Heaven. Only a human mother can. Mothers are closer to God the Creator than any other creature; God joins forces with mothers in performing this act of creation... What on God's good earth is more glorious than this: to be a mother?" - Joseph Cardinal Mindszenty
Abortion advocates in at least 15 states are seeking to qualify ballot measures for November that would enshrine abortion protections in law or their state constitutions, and some efforts recently got a step closer.
An effort in New York was tossed off the ballot — for now — when it was blocked by a judge who found that state lawmakers failed to follow procedural rules for passing constitutional amendments.

Legislation legalizing physician-assisted su***de (PAS) should be opposed and defeated, Timothy Cardinal Dolan wrote in an opinion piece published on April 7 in the Daily News. Two bills, A995A and S2445A, being considered by the New York Assembly and New York Senate, respectively, could legalize PAS if passed.

"I would now like to say a special word to women who have had an abortion. The Church is aware of the many factors which may have influenced your decision, and she does not doubt that in many cases it was a painful and even shattering decision. The wound in your heart may not yet have healed. Certainly what happened was and remains terribly wrong. But do not give in to discouragement and do not lose hope... The Father of mercies is ready to give you his forgiveness and his peace..." - St. John Paul II

Join us in prayer in advance of the oral arguments that the U.S. Supreme Court will hear tomorrow, March 26th, for a case that has the potential to make a major impact on the widespread accessibility of chemical abortion, by restoring limitations previously overridden by the FDA.
Dearest St. Joseph, at the word of an angel, you lovingly took Mary into your home. As God’s humble servant, you guided the Holy Family on the road to Bethlehem, welcomed Jesus as your own son in the shelter of a manger, and fled far from your homeland for the safety of both Mother and Child. We praise God that as their faithful protector, you never hesitated to sacrifice for those entrusted to you. May your example inspire us also to welcome, cherish, and safeguard God’s most precious gift of life. Help us to faithfully commit ourselves to the service and defense of human life - especially where it is vulnerable or threatened. Obtain for us the grace to do the will of God in all things. Amen.
