The Latin American Episcopal Council (CELAM),the Latin American Confederation of Religious (CLAR), and Caritas published a letter (https://adn.celam.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Everyone-with-Haiti.pdf) https://adn.celam.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Convocatoria-Todos-con-Haiti-espanol.pdf for Spanish) asking that this Friday, March 22nd be a day of prayer and action for the Haitian people. We are convinced that the strength and power of prayer will draw us closer to the people of Haiti. On this day, may our Lenten practices have this intention and be a means of drawing attention to and awakening others to the gravity of the situation in Haiti.
PCMNY proposes that all make some public gesture in union with our prayer.
Let us unite with the cry of the people of Haiti.
