Reaaaaaaally 🤯 “How Big Is Taylor Swift?” by in Sunday issue July 7, 2024. We’re open until 10 PM
Come to the Casa! we have more magazine titles than Hollywood has NDAs ✍️
via : The nondisclosure agreement - a contract that, in its simplest form, prevents someone from saying something in exchange for something else - is supposed to exist in the shadows. But earlier this year, all of a sudden, they were everywhere. There was, of course, the NDA Donald Trump gave to Stormy Daniels.
And the ones OpenAl had sent to ex-employees threatening to claw back their vested equity if they criticized the company. Lawyers representing Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie argued all spring over who made whom sign the more onerous NDA in their divorce proceedings. In April, O.J. Simpson reportedly gave one to every member of his family before they could visit him on his deathbed. And in a very modern cry for help, Miss USA demanded release from her NDA through a cryptic Instagram post in which the first letter of each sentence spelled out “I am silenced.”
To steal a phrase from Taylor Swift, who has both complained about NDAs and given them out, America has entered its NDA era.
For our new cover story, reports on how a tool to protect trade secrets infiltrated everyday life.

“Juneteenth to me means a lot. When we think about the African Diaspora and the history rooted in America and freedom for African Americans it serves a reminder that there are people before us that have fought for liberation. It shows that even after the emancipation proclamation was signed in 1863 African Americans still were not liberated. It redefined what liberation meant for the African American community here in the US. It showed that our liberation comes from us. Liberation lies within us and will not be formed from the current institutional structures we have in place for it never has.” — Fatimata Cham

: For 30 years I’ve lived around the corner from the best magazine store in Manhattan... so my heart overflowed when I saw that filled their windows with my cover! I grabbed after last night to get a good shot of it. Did I mention they carry just about every magazine in the world? What great neighbors. Also - grab some food at while you’re in the hood.
“I feel happy and secure when I’m on my bed with a good book... I forget everything which is terrible in our world.”

: Pets are wonderful for 10 million different reasons. They cuddle with us; they make us laugh; they keep us rooted in the present moment; they can make us live longer. But they also force us to deal, up close, with mortality. Because there’s no way around it: Our pets are going to die. Animal lovers can measure their lives in cats and dogs and birds and lizards and gerbils and fish — all the creatures we’ve gathered around us to thicken the texture of our days, but then have to mourn once we’ve outlived them.
Get your with Sunday’s , join the writer Sam Anderson as he delves into the lessons he learned about embracing his mortality from his dachshund named Walnut.

Harata HeiQuiti (Heikichi) is a Japanese graphic designer whose focus is in editorial design and whom is well-known for his poetic visuals. Harata was born in 1947 and graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music with a major in Visual Design.
Influenced by preceding 1960s designers like Sugiura Kohei and Yokoo Tadanori, Harata began working freelance solo and developed a highly signature optical/pictorial/poetic means of combining of imagery and typography. He is influenced by early 20th modernist writers and poets like Inagaki Taruho. Parataxis — the literary technique of conscientious connection using short sentences about very distant topics by framing them together — lays at the very core of his approach.
In the early 1970s, Harata worked on the magazine Shinjuku Play Map, which led to a large body of commissions in editorial design, from which he gained a strong following. His early visual works for Japanese underground magazines like Heavenand visuals for the legendary Japanese popular music group Yellow Magic Orchestra embodied the zeitgeist of Japanese New Wave graphic design and visual art in the ’80s. In the same period, he self-published an independent magazine WX-raY — even though only the inaugural issue was published, Harata’s influence reverberated widely, sparking a wave of self-initiated and self-published media by graphic designers.

NEW 🚨 Buffalo MOTHER ❤️
In this new issue of Buffalo Zine we explore the definition of motherhood ― unconditional love, primal instinct, joy, worry, selflessness, community, learning, growth and much more ― revealing unknown stories about anonymous mothers. Maternal presence and absence, alternative mother figures and chosen families. Mothers as our personal heroes or antagonists. Moms always know better, right? But not always. We also uncover the struggles and hardships in everybody’s relationship with their mothers. This issue revolves around the mother as a cardinal and central figure in our vital experience.

: My idea for printed magazine Out Of Eden’s, even for Eden’s the cafe, shaped up a decade ago in New York City. Strange thing I always feel much love and feel home here like no other place. To me New York is more beautiful when it drizzles and you talk mostly about present and future, then lots of the past memories here and there come naturally. My dreams alive here and it’s time to go home and roll up my sleeves again. Thank you my NYC.
