QURAN CONTRADICTIONS
VOLUME III
Book overview
Muslims often disarm those who criticize the Qur’an by asking if they have read the Qur’an in Arabic. Whenever we debate with Muslims about the deficiencies, contradictions, absurdities, or violent verses of the Qur’an, their favorite line of defense is “Can you read Arabic?” The inference is that all the difficulties of the Qur’an will somehow disappear if we read it in the Arabic language. The Muslim game is that the Qur’an can only be fully understood in Arabic. Therefore, one cannot criticize Islam without knowing Arabic.
Muslims claim that the language of the Qur’an is so unique that an accurate translation of it into another language is virtually impossible. This is a deception by Muslims. They try to silence any criticism that is raised against the Qur’an by resorting to this deception. Since most of us do not understand or speak the original language of the Qur’an, they quickly dismiss our arguments as baseless. We are told that since we do not know Arabic, we are not in a position to raise any objection against the Qur’an. “Can you read Arabic?” has often been the battle cry of Muslims when they engage in debates with Christians. Critics of the Qur’an are often reduced to an awkward silence with this Muslim tactic. This lie needs to be exposed.
Firstly, the Qur’an claims to be a universal message for all humanity at all times. If the message is universal, then it must be understood by all people. If the great majority of mankind cannot understand the message, then by definition it is not universal. To claim that we need to know Arabic to understand the Qur’an belies the claim that the Qur’an is a universal message for all humanity. Therefore, this shameful tactic of Muslims comes at a heavy price for them, since Islam cannot be protected in this way without sacrificing its claim to being a universal religion.
Secondly, how many Muslims can read the Qur’an in Arabic, let alone with understanding? The great majority of Muslims are not Arabs or Arabic-speaking people. In fact, the largest Muslim nation, Indonesia, and the second largest Muslim nation, Pakistan, are non-Arabic-speaking nations. To these, we can add Iran, Turkey, Malaysia, India (which has a sizeable Muslim population), and many others. In other words, the majority of Muslims have to rely on translations of the Qur’an in their native language to understand it. Most Muslims who raise the language objection are non-Arabs who do not understand Arabic. How then did they become Muslims without understanding Arabic?
Additionally, it must be made clear which Arabic is being discussed here. The Arabic of the Qur’an is classical Arabic. Classical Arabic of the Qur’an is different from the Arabic of today. In other words, the great majority of modern Arabs cannot effectively read the original Arabic Qur’an and understand its meaning. Thus, even Arab Muslims have to rely on translations to understand the Qur’an. It is estimated that fewer than a thousand scholars who read classical Arabic can compose a paragraph in classical Arabic script on a given subject.

Book overview
All the evidences verify that the Quran could not have originated from the true God. While there are undeniable evidences proving the involvement of human elements, there is however a more sinister force behind the inspiration of the Quran. To identify the true source behind the origin of the Quran, we must begin at the beginning. We must examine how the Quran came into existence. The writings of the Quran began with the revelation Muhammad first received in the Cave of Hira. This is where it all started. This is the seed from which Islam sprouted. Islam began with the person of Muhammad. Therefore, to identify the source behind the inspiration of the Quran, we must examine the calling of Muhammad as a prophet of Allah. Let’s go back to the time when Muhammad began receiving his revelations.
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 1, Number 3:
Allah’s Apostle used to go in seclusion in the Cave of Hira where he used to worship Allah . . . till suddenly the Truth descended upon him while he was in the Cave of Hira. The angel came to him and asked him to read. The Prophet replied, “I do not know how to read.”
The Prophet added, “The angel caught me forcefully and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read and I replied, ‘I do not know how to read.’ Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read but again I replied, ‘I do not know how to read.’ Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then released me and said, ‘Read in the name of your Lord, who has created all that exists, has created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous.’”
ThenAllah’s Apostle returned with the Inspiration and with his heart beating severely. Then he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, “Cover me! Cover me!” They covered him till his fear was over and after that he told her everything that happened and said, “I fear that something may happen to me.” Khadija replied, “Never! Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good relations with your Kith and kin, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guests generously and assist the deserving calamity-afflicted ones.”
Muhammad was physically abused by the spirit who delivered the revelation of Allah to him. He fled the cave in terror. Not wanting to see the cause of that terror again, he pleaded to his wife: “Cover me! Cover me!” Fearing for his life, he told her: “I fear that something may happen to me.” The supernatural confrontation in the cave was more demonic than divine. There is not a single instance in the entire Bible where an angelic messenger physically abused the one chosen by God to receive his revelation. Ironically, Muhammad was the first person to doubt the genuineness of the revelation which he received from the spirit in the Cave of Hira. Thus, began the revelation of the Quran. This terrifying encounter is also documented in the earliest biographical record of Muhammad.
Ibn Ishaq, Sirat Rasul Allah, p. 106:
So I read it, and he (Gabriel) departed from me. And I awoke from my sleep, and it was as though these words were written on my heart. Now none of God’s creatures was more horrible to me than a poet or a man possessed: I could not even look at them. I thought, “Woe is me poet or possessed – Never shall Quraysh say this of me! I will go to the top of the mountain and throw myself down that I may kill myself and gain rest.”
Yes, you read it right.

Book overview
The damaging evidences against Islam are far too many for any sincere seeker of the truth to ignore. An increasing number of Muslims are leaving Islam quietly. To these mounting evidences against Islam, we will now add another indisputable evidence in the Qur’an that exposes in detail the errors of Allah.
THE COVENANT OF THE PROPHETS
We will commence with the reading of Surah 3:81. Given below are two translations of this Qur’anic verse:
Surah 3:81: Allah took a covenant with the Prophets, saying: “Now that you have been given the Book and Wisdom; there will come to you a Messenger who will confirm that which is with you, you will have to believe in him and help him in his mission.” Then He said “Do you affirm this covenant and agree to take this heavy responsibility?” The Prophets replied, “Yes, we do affirm.” Allah said, “Very well, bear witness to this and I too bear witness with you.” (Farook Malik)
And remember when Allah took the Covenant of the Prophets, saying: “Take whatever I gave you from the Book and Hikmah (understanding of the Laws of Allah), and afterwards there will come to you a Messenger (Muhammad SAW) confirming what is with you; you must, then, believe in him and help him.” Allah said: “Do you agree (to it) and will you take up My Covenant (which I conclude with you)?” They said: “We agree.” He said: “Then bear witness; and I am with you among the witnesses for this.” (Hilali-Khan)
A careful examination of Surah 3:81 reveals the following:
(1) Allah made a Covenant with the Prophets prior to the time of Muhammad.
(2) These Prophets were called upon by Allah to pledge their support to a forthcoming Messenger who was to appear to them later.
(3) The Prophets agree and Allah secures their pledge to help the forthcoming Messenger in his mission.
(4) This new Messenger will confirm the previous sacred Book of Allah which is in the possession of the Prophets. Since this Messenger will come during the presence of these Prophets, they will personally witness his confirmation of their sacred Book.
(5) Allah concludes the Covenant with the Prophets and bears witness with them to ensure the fulfillment of his Covenant.
As acknowledged by all Muslim scholars and testified clearly in Hilali-Khan’s translation of the Qur’an, the Messenger mentioned in this Qur’anic verse refers to none other than Muhammad. This raises some very vital questions. Who were the Prophets who lived during the time of Muhammad? Who were the Prophets present at the time of Muhammad to witness his confirmation of the previous Scriptures? Who were the Prophets on hand to help Muhammad in his mission as the Messenger of Allah? None!

Book overview
The Book of Daniel is a captivating and multifaceted work found in both the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Old Testament. It is renowned for its unique structure, combining historical narratives and apocalyptic visions, making it a distinctive contribution to biblical literature. The book is traditionally ascribed to the prophet Daniel, who, along with his companions, is taken into Babylonian captivity. Daniel's unwavering faith, wisdom, and ability to interpret dreams play central roles in the narrative.
The book is divided into two sections: the historical narratives (chapters 1-6) and the apocalyptic visions (chapters 7-12). The historical narratives recount significant events during the Babylonian exile, such as the experiences of Daniel and his friends in the royal court, including the well-known stories of the fiery furnace and the lion's den. These narratives highlight themes of faithfulness, divine protection, and the sovereignty of God over earthly powers.
The apocalyptic visions in the latter part of the book are characterized by symbolic imagery and prophetic revelations. These visions offer glimpses into the rise and fall of empires, the coming of a messianic figure, and the ultimate establishment of God's kingdom. The famous vision of the four beasts in chapter 7 and the seventy weeks prophecy in chapter 9 are particularly significant, influencing later Jewish and Christian eschatological beliefs.
The Book of Daniel has sparked extensive scholarly debate regarding its authorship, dating, and historical accuracy. Some argue for a late date of composition during the Hellenistic period, while others maintain an earlier date during the Babylonian exile. The question of whether the book is primarily historical or apocalyptic in nature adds to its complexity.
The book's influence extends beyond religious circles, impacting literature, art, and theological discussions. Its themes of resilience, trust in God, and the anticipation of divine justice resonate across religious traditions. The Book of Daniel, with its blend of history, prophecy, and apocalyptic visions, continues to captivate readers and inspire reflection on the intersection of faith, politics, and divine providence.

WHO IS THE GOD OF TRUTH?
Between Allah and Jesus, who is the God of truth?
Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life” as exhibited in (John 14:6) and He called the Holy Spirit “the Spirit of truth” (John 14:17; 15:26; 16:13). A more indirect affirmation that God is truth is Hebrews 6:18, which says that “it is impossible for God to lie.”
The Hebrew term for “truth” is emet, which means “truth,” “firm,” “stable,” and “faithful.” The Greek word for “truth” is aletheia, which denotes being “truthful” or “upright” or “having nothing to hide.” From these terms—and from other attributes of Eternal God that support His truthfulness such as His immutability (God cannot change – His Attributes), infinity, and simplicity (God cannot be partly anything)—we understand that God Himself is absolute truth. That truth will never change and can always be relied upon.
Hebrews 6:18: It is impossible for God to lie.
It is impossible for the true God to lie. By his very nature Jehovah cannot lie. Therefore, the Holy Bible which he revealed to us must be absolutely true. Christians must always treasure this divine quality of their God each time they study His Word, each time they pray to Him and each time they reach out for His love. Yes! God cannot lie. What a grand privilege to worship a God of such integrity. What a grand blessing it is to worship Jehovah our heavenly Father.
In contrast, Allah fabricated lies in the Quran. This invalidates the Quran as the Word of God.
Who then is this lying deity behind the inspiration of the Quran? We will let the Bible answer. The Bible reveals the following truth concerning the characteristics of Satan:
John 8:44: He was a murderer from the beginning, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own character, for he is a liar and the father of the lie.
The Bible identifies Satan the Devil as a “liar and the father of the lie.” Is it not a little suspicious that Allah exhibits the same deceptive character of Satan? This should alert sincere Muslims. And this gives us another convincing reason to reject Islam.
SATAN
Surah 4:119:I will lead them astray and fill them with false hopes. (A. Bewley)
ALLAH
Surah 16:93: Had Allah wished, He would have made you one community, but He leads astray whomever He wishes and guides whomever He wishes, and you will surely be questioned concerning what you used to do. (Ali Quli Qara’i)
There is no difference between the character of Allah and that of Satan. Both lead people astray. Have you ever wondered why a Muslim is unable to see the errors of his ways?
Shalom,
Dr. Maxwell Shimba
