Guided Imagery and Music (GIM). It is a music therapy technique that benefits adults looking to explore, process, and gain insight into their personal issues. Caregivers will join this GIM session focusing on music listening to reach their deepest thoughts and feelings to connect with themselves. Traditional verbal psychotherapy techniques are also used.
For the experiential (music) component, please be prepared with the following:
1. Have a quiet and comfortable place to participate.
2. Bring a pair of headphones for listening to music.
3. Paper and any coloring/drawing materials (i.e. crayons, markers, pastels, pencils, etc.).

The mission of the Alzheimer's Poetry Project is to improve the quality of life of people living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia by facilitating creative expression through poetry. Caregivers and care-receivers, join Gary Glazner of the APP for this one-hour poetry session using call and response, humor, improvisation, combining poetry with dance and music.
