As a renewable resource—cork has so much potential for different uses. We were interested in its porosity and tactile qualities to make an urban play scape more approachable. Cork has a subtle resilience that can soften the urban environment.

The unique transformation of cork at high temperatures and pressure creates a naturally darker, strongly-scented material. Arranged organically and fluidly, Leong Leong’s urban sculptures invite you to experiment and explore this new sensorial landscape.

Play is an essential aspect of the human experience no matter our age, not only as a source of joy but also as a process of learning through exploration. In that sense play is critical for the future of our cities — we will need to play, experiment and learn together to navigate our future on the planet.
Lily Pad is a modular and adaptable system so it wasn’t designed for one specific site in mind but more with the intention that every city has spaces that need more playful furniture that allow people to interact an many different ways.

Taking cues from natural forms.

The selection of woollen textiles, Twill Weave, Steelcut 3, and Ria, brings together patterns and colours that reflect the vibrant landscapes of the Hawaiian Islands. Leong Leong sees Kīpuka as an exploration of Kvadrat’s textiles offering new aesthetic possibilities that connect people with the natural world.

Soft seating, creative configurations.

Inspired by the Native Hawaiian concept of an ‘oasis’ or a ‘clearing’: a pocket of life that persists within turbulent environmental transformations, Kīpuka is an adaptable seating system of objects that transforms domestic spaces into sanctuaries for rest, play and reflection.

We’re looking for an intern with an interior design background and a keen eye for detail to join our New York office.

The Block Garden is a 4,600 sf cultural hub in Yangon, Myanmar. Programmed to provide a place of gathering for local artists and international visitors. Alternating between openings in the ceiling and the walls, the building reorients the visitor between the garden and the sky.

We are very excited to learn that has juts announced the selection of the Norma, an 11-Story, 100 percent affordable home ownership project designed by with Almat Urban and .

The Norma, will give rise to 44 homeownership opportunities through a mix of 1- to 3-bedroom condo-style coops for low- to moderate-income households with a broad range of affordability.

Under the plans, the Brownsville Multi Service Wellness and Health Center will operate a new urgent care facility on the ground floor, providing services for adult medicine, pediatrics, physical therapy, OB/GYN, mental health and dentistry among others. The condo units will come with individual storage spaces in the cellar and equipped with other amenities like a washer/dryer hook up, Juliette balconies and free building-wireless internet access. A community terrace on the second floor will create space for community building, resident organizing and activities. Additionally, the building is designed to comply with Passive House energy efficiency and sustainability standards with a fully electric mechanical heating and cooling systems.
