Today is a step forward for The NYC Department of Education.
New York City’s Mayor Eric Adams and New York City Department of Eduction Chancellor, David Banks
announced the largest, most comprehensive approach to supporting public school students with dyslexia in the United States. For the first time, all New York City public school students will be assessed for being at risk of dyslexia, be supported in their neighborhood school, and receive specialized instruction through the development of special programs and academies.
President’s Week courses are underway! 🎉📚
EOG has been a Contracted Vendor for The New York City Department of Education for over 10 years. We have been afforded the unique opportunity to work with many of our city’s public school teaching teams.
P.S. 160 in Brooklyn, one of the first schools to be trained by Ann Edwards, has displayed an unwavering commitment to The Orton-Gillingham Approach for over a decade. We are proud to work with P.S. 160 and their dedicated teachers.
As always, we won’t stop until it’s - The science of reading for all.™️

“…but teaching a child to read is not simply teaching them to decode words, just as building a house is not simply painting the walls and installing the fixtures. There is a foundation that needs to be built in both cases–slowly, steadily, and step-by-step–for the finished structure to stand on its own. “
