RETERRA 2021 is an architecture competition that calls on students and graduates of architecture, design, and planning to conceive of innovative, transformative, and downright ingenious proposals to re-terraform Metro-Manila back to its innate fertility and abundance.

This competition is an exploration on ideas and comprehensive strategies for integrating agriculture into the urban setting, so that food production, storage, preparation, and consumption are treated as part of our cities’ infrastructures and programs.

Hosted by CIUL (Centro de Informação Urbana de Lisboa/ Lisbon’s Urban Information Center) - supported by Ana Marçal and Dora Lampreia - we have been collaborating with the CML (Câmara Municipal de Lisboa) through their team Paula Rebelo (CML) and Maria Almeida (CML), and with ISCTE Architecture School (Vasco Rato/Alexandra Paio) for academic framework support - to develop ideas of a Civic Forum Public Space for the Doca de Santos, in Lisbon.

Along the way, we listened to and discussed ideas with Manuel Aires Mateus (AMA), Carla Duarte (CML - GIS Systems), Helena Barreiros (CML - Lisbon’s Urban History), Luís Nunes (ISCTE - Sensing Networks and Data Mining), Pedro Campos Costa (CCA), Rui Duarte (Livre Party/EP/Público), Patrícia Gouveia (FBAUL - Multimedia) and Tiago M. Saraiva (atelier mob).

SITREP.at is honored to announce the launch of our Lisbon 2016 intensive, on-site design studio with a keynote address by the internationally renowned Portuguese architect Carrilho da Graça.

This event is open to the public.

SITREP.at LISBON 2016 will be hosted by the ISCTE-IUL, and work in collaboration with the CIUL-CML. Scholarship applications (for full tuition and discounted slots) are due on November 22, 2015.
