I would like to thank Fukue Goto, Osamu Yoshida, Mieko Ichijima, and Hiroshi Kawamura for putting this great jam session together here in Asakusa. Thank you to all the participants who came and sat in with us. Everyone had a great time.
Good job to all, I was very proud of everyone who participated. Look forward to seeing you all next year!!

2/11:: Osaka::Thank you for coming everyone!

Here with 2 young and talented Japanese musicians .kan both graduates of the Berkeley College of Music gave an outstanding performance last night at the Blue Note Place in Tokyo. Kan as grown into an excellent percussionist. His performance last night was outstanding. I’ve know him from NY when he was studying Latin percussion with my other music colleague . Mao was exuberant with his performance. An excellent pianist and trumpet player. I was most impressed when Mao played a solo on the trumpet showing extreme control with sound, playing the trumpet with his right hand while striking the cord changes with his left. Not an easy task to take on. The timing and coordination on both instruments was outstanding. Kan and Mao, continue success to you both.

My first Hamachi K**a in Tokyo.

I had the honor of hanging out with legendary bassist of Dizzy Gillespie’s big band Mr. Paul West. I had a great conversation with him reminiscing about the music scene of the 1940s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and the 80s. Those were the days for all musicians. Music was everywhere didn’t matter what genre of music you performed. Conversing with Paul brought me back to those incredible days. What an encyclopedia of music history. To all great musicians out there, continue your journey and your legacies! It’s truly an incredible inspiration!

Recording sessions DONE! 🎶

Proud, happy and so excited to say we have finished our recordings for our song! I loved working with Willie Ruiz. Besides it was a lot of fun, he is also a great coach and professional producer. We both gave it a 100% and we look forward to share the release. Ofcourse we are going to reveal the exact date later.

Now it's time for some other very excited projects that came along during my stay in New York City. Keep you posted!

Today I am at a loss for words. We lost one of our pioneers in Latin music. Ralphy Irizarry. My deepest Condolences to his family during this difficult time. I had the honor to perform with him, record with him and arrange music for his CD projects. Thank you  Ralph for being a great friend, mentor and for having me perform in your projects and gigs. Love you brother, I will miss you. RIP🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️
