Seen here, Neyid Jr. is being trained at the Pillimue family’s farm. He is part of a small group of sons and daughters of growers that help out in their free time in order to prepare for a life dedicated to coffee.

Neyid Sr., after working in the family farm and saving up to buy his own, purchased El Carmen, where he has been growing coffee for over a decade.

With four children and four grand children, Neyid Sr. hopes that specialty coffee will provide them with financial stability and meaningful careers.

The Gesha coffee variety originated in Ethiopia, where it was collected and brought to Costa Rica. Years later, it was planted in Panama where it sold for record-breaking amount for its outstanding sweet and floral qualities. It is one of the world D’s most prized coffee varieties.

Dear Felix Family,
With gratitude for everyone who visited us at Greene St. and became our family and our community, we’re sad to announce that Jan 15 will be our last day of operations at this location.

We have lost our lease. Fortunately, although this was our only location when we opened in the middle of Covid - we now have 4 others and many more to come!
