Complex Patellofemoral Instability: Cutting-Edge Surgeries Complex patellofemoral instability requires multiple surgeries to prevent knee dislocation. HSS surgeons collaborate to perform all these surgeries at one time.
Patellofemoral joint replacement (PFJR) can be a great option for the right candidate! History is so important in these patients! Some patients will present with xrays like this as well as a long standing history of patella instability! The risk of postop patella dislocations is real. I will consider adding an MPFL reconstruction in this population to control the instability!
