Valentine’s Day T the ACT Programs!
Valentine Love was everywhere at the ACT Programs! Our AfterSchool kids had a great Valentine Celebration! Our 3K kids made gifts for their families! Our PreK kids made 50 cards for patients at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital! We all had lots of tasty treats and shared cards, gifts, friendship & LOVE!
Jose Torres
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce that our Founding Director, Jose Torres, has passed away. Jose founded the ACT Programs over FIFTY years ago! It was his vision to provide after school, summer & holiday camp and early childhood education programs that would serve the needs of families throughout the neighboring communities around the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Everyone at the ACT Programs owes a debt of gratitude to Jose for creating such a special place for children from toddlers to teens to come to play and learn on the beautiful cathedral grounds. Funeral services are this Saturday, January 6th, at 3:30 PM in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
The ACT PreK in December…
The ACT PreK class has been in the spirit of the season all month long! We made 50 cards for patients at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital! We made beautiful frames for our school portraits to give to our parents! We geared up to play in the chilly air! We loved getting our own special surprise gifts! We created lots of decorations for our big Winter Family Breakfast Party where we honored all the seasonal holidays celebrated by our families and staff!
We played "pin the nose on the snow man!" And SO much more! Happy Holidays from the ACT PreK - we cannot wait to see everyone again in the New Year!
ACT PreK and 3K Soccer Classes with Coach Alex & Coach Jesus of Stellar Soccer!
The ACT 3K and PreK had a GREAT time today in their first soccer classes with Coach Alex and Coach Jesus of Stellar Soccer! Weekly soccer classes throughout the Winter months will be a great way to help us stay warm and active!
Autumn in the ACT PreK!
Nothing says “Autumn” quite like leaf rubbings and the ACT PreK class made beautiful ones using leaves collected on the magnificent grounds of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine!
The ACT PreK kids know that there’s no such thing as “bad weather” when they’re wearing the right gear!

🎥Blast from the past! Families enjoying the indoor PlayStation has been a tradition of ACTs going back long ago. 😷With the use of CDC and Health regulations, ACT’s PlayStation is reopening to the public from December -March 2022. Come check it out and have fun all through the winter season.
