Another sunny day to take a morning nap outside.
Valentine Love was everywhere at the ACT Programs! Our AfterSchool kids had a great Valentine Celebration! Our 3K kids made gifts for their families! Our PreK kids made 50 cards for patients at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital! We all had lots of tasty treats and shared cards, gifts, friendship & LOVE!

The ACT PreK kids having Rest Time out in the ACT Garden Outdoor Classroom. Many are actually napping - the others are listening to music and looking up through the trees at the pure blue sky above! With proper gear on we can enjoy outdoor resting even in January! Outdoor Classroom Life - NYC Style!
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce that our Founding Director, Jose Torres, has passed away. Jose founded the ACT Programs over FIFTY years ago! It was his vision to provide after school, summer & holiday camp and early childhood education programs that would serve the needs of families throughout the neighboring communities around the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Everyone at the ACT Programs owes a debt of gratitude to Jose for creating such a special place for children from toddlers to teens to come to play and learn on the beautiful cathedral grounds. Funeral services are this Saturday, January 6th, at 3:30 PM in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
The ACT PreK class has been in the spirit of the season all month long! We made 50 cards for patients at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital! We made beautiful frames for our school portraits to give to our parents! We geared up to play in the chilly air! We loved getting our own special surprise gifts! We created lots of decorations for our big Winter Family Breakfast Party where we honored all the seasonal holidays celebrated by our families and staff!
We played "pin the nose on the snow man!" And SO much more! Happy Holidays from the ACT PreK - we cannot wait to see everyone again in the New Year!

Today the ACT PreK children proudly delivered FIFTY Winter holiday themed cards they made for patients at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital! We are SO proud of this continuing partnership that has given the children the important opportunity to truly and meaningfully contribute to their community. We cannot think of a better way to honor the spirit of this holiday season!
The ACT 3K and PreK had a GREAT time today in their first soccer classes with Coach Alex and Coach Jesus of Stellar Soccer! Weekly soccer classes throughout the Winter months will be a great way to help us stay warm and active!

The ACT PreK class celebrated Thanksgiving by creating more than 50 cards for patients at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, proving that, given the opportunity and agency to do so, young children can meaningfully and tangibly contribute to their community!

Our Story
Adults and Children in Trust (A.C.T.), located on the 11-acre oasis of the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine campus on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, is an education center that provides year-round educational and recreational programs for infants, children and teens from 6 months to 17 years old. At A.C.T., we work with children from the very beginning. Once children are in school, we provide families with after-school care, holiday camps, summer camps and even party services for those special milestones in a child’s life.
