IP address registries have matured. Once they were central to rapid innovation; now they are foundational infrastructure. Their tools have become better and more reliable because users test them every day. How could an unstable APNIC or other RIR impact network operators and ordinary internet users? Dear Nicoleta,
Thank you for your kind words – and your business. Even though we are the largest IPv4 marketplace in the world, we serve one customer at a time. It’s terrific to hear we’re doing a good job at it.
For those of you interested in hearing about client experiences, we’ve posted a few “case studies” on our website. Each has its own story to tell. We hope you enjoy them.

Almost every device connecting to the internet must have a numerical address. That address is part of a block of addresses used by a network. The smallest block that can be used on the internet is 256 IPv4 addresses.
Internet Protocol version Four (IPv4) was the first version of the Internet Protocol put into wide production. Almost all the IPv4 addresses have already been allocated. It is still the most popular version of the Internet Protocol. IPv6 is newer but less than half of all internet traffic uses it.
IPv4 addresses perform a core service on the internet. Learn about their management, transfer, sale, value, and controls. https://hubs.li/Q028PDJv0
An IP address’ reputation can significantly impact its utility and worth in the digital marketplace. A tarnished reputation can hinder email deliverability and even prevent businesses from operating online.
When the time comes to sell, buy, or lease an IPv4 address, multiple factors will come into play. The reputation of an IPv4 address block is a factor that is poorly understood and often ignored. Neglecting this factor can result in a block of addresses that have a limited usefulness and requiring significant additional effort to be usable. https://hubs.li/Q028mb6S0
/16 average prices have held very steady, varying by pennies each month. The prices for small and medium blocks is falling slower than it had been, and appears to be finding a bottom.
This is a dynamic market, so keep checking https://hubs.li/Q028dbw80 for the latest transactions.

Two benefits of IP address management involve security and opportunity. Managing IP addresses is managing risk. It is also a lens you can use to identify business processes that need improvement, or sleeping assets that can be converted into cash.
From a safety standpoint, devices on unmanaged networks may be running unlicensed or unpatched software. Plus, bad actors search for unused IP addresses understanding they are often ignored. Unmonitored addresses can be hijacked, leaving a reputational mess behind.
Controlling the risks associated with IP address management also delivers opportunities. When unique public IPv4 addresses are used for devices that should not receive inbound connections, they can be replaced with private IPv4 addresses or IPv6 addresses. Releasing IPv4 addresses to the market turns a sleeping asset into cash. https://hubs.li/Q027VLdv0

In response to an increasing number of bad actors on the internet quite early in its development, various proposals were offered in the 1990s to curb or eliminate the delivery of malicious content. The best ideas proposed sought to identify senders and disseminate information about them that might block their distribution capabilities. Today, reputation lists evaluate domain names as well as IP addresses. Their goal is to give engineering teams information to help them decide whether to accept a message, or other data traffic. https://hubs.li/Q0273v5m0
As year-end approaches, exciting opportunities are becoming available. Here are some of the offerings we are currently showing:
• 2MM+ ARIN Addresses--Twelve (12) /16s, plus a substantial number of /17s, /18s, and /19s.
• Individual /16s--We have a steady flow of single /16s available from multiple regions.
Please visit our website for information on these opportunities, https://ipv4.global/bundles2/ or contact Ronnie Kassin at 212.540.4549 or [email protected].
According to IPv4•Global’s “Bundles Concierge” Ronnie Kassin, IPv4 addresses are less costly when purchased in smaller blocks. We bundle a number of these together, from a single seller because it is easier and cheaper to purchase from a single source.
Take advantage of the spread. Please contact Ronnie at 212.540.4549 or [email protected]. He’ll assemble a collection of smaller blocks into the custom, large “bundle” that fits your needs.

Hilco Global Mexico is exhibiting at ANUIES TIC. We're so excited our awesome partners are exhibitng at this prestigious event.
We have found a floor for IPv4 prices on small blocks. Most medium blocks were consistent with recent trends, but a few outliers show a dip in the chart. Large blocks (/16 and larger) continue holding their value, with significant premiums for larger aggregates.

A brief history of IPv4.Global and Hilco Streambank
Hilco Streambank, and it’s predecessor Streambank, LLC have been valuing and monetizing intangible assets for over decade. In that time we’ve identified, packaged, and sold all manner of intangibles including patent portfolios, trademarks, domain names, data, software, and other types of rights. Our clients have ranged from startups who ran out of funds to Fortune 100 companies who found themselves with surplus assets. In that time we’ve become expert in understanding the market dynamics for all manner of intangibles. In some cases they are strategic, in other cases they are financial, and other cases the acquisition decision is driven by factors such as “freedom to operate” which is a combination of the two. We brokered our first IPv4 address ranges on behalf of bankrupt client Borders Group, Inc. in 2011, shortly after the sale of 10 Class B ranges from Nortel to Microsoft. Over the last 7 years we repositioned that business line as IPv4.Global because our clients are everywhere, the asset for sale is uniquely IPv4, and the internet and networking community had no history with Hilco or Streambank. We now operate the world’s only open transaction platform where anyone can see real-time bidding and recent sale prices, www.ipv4auctions.com and one of the largest private brokerages of IPv4, routinely helping clients buy or sell ranges from /17 to /8. We look forward to working with you and helping you make intelligent decisions with great information as your IPv4 needs evolve over time.
