It’s getting close to the end of this year with all of the usual holidays; however, we couldn’t end the year without announcing more incredible news for 2024. We are absolutely delighted to share the fabulous news that Chef Hiroki Odo has officially become a Japanese Cuisine Goodwill Ambassador, appointed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Japan. The inauguration ceremony will be held in February 2024 in New York City.
 
This prestigious accolade is a testament to Chef Odo’s passion, vision, and relentless pursuit of culinary perfection and to his contribution to fine dining. It would not have been possible without the unwavering support and appreciation from patrons like you. We want to express our sincere gratitude for your continued strong support.  

Your presence at odo has not only enriched our culinary journey but also contributed to this momentous achievement. 

Chef Odo will continue to make his utmost efforts for the culinary world with his passion, vision, and dreams, spreading of the culture of Japanese food and diet both inside and outside Japan.

さて今般、料理人　大堂浩樹は、日本時間令和5年12月13日付をもちまして、農林水産省より、外務省の協力のもと、「日本食普及親善大使」に任命されました。就任式は来年2月に在ニューヨーク総領事館にて行われます。これまで応援していただいた皆様をはじめ、足を運んでくださった全ての皆様に心から感謝申し上げます。

親善大使とは、農林水産省が各省庁の協力のもと、海外へ日本食・食文化や日本の農林水産物・食品の更なる魅力発信を更に進めることを目的とした活動です。

「食は文化であり、文化は食である」というモットーをもとに、「日本文化としての食、食としての日本文化を伝える」という初心を忘れず、日本食文化の魅力を国内外に発信し続けてまいります。今後はこれまでにも増して鋭意努力する決意ですので、何卒なお一層のご指導ご支援を賜りますようお願い申し上げます。
