We are saddened to learn of the passing of the great Russell Malone. He was a friend of the shop since our early days and Tom had known him for 30 years. He was always a pleasure to be in the presence of. Whether he was trying out a guitar or telling a joke he always had us smiling. It’s not often we photograph customers but back in 2013 on one of his first visits he insisted we take some pictures of him with this 1940s L-4.
Unsurprisingly, such a fine thinline didn't stay at our shop for a long time, as this 1959 Gibson ES-225TD was undeniably special. Stellar condition with a refret being the only alteration. They are such underrated guitars. SOLD

Undoubtedly, one of the best kept secrets in the shop has to be this 1961 Magnatone Model 200. This is an exceptionally rare Magnatone-made guitar, and designed by Paul Barth, who had worked for many of the major musical manufacturers of the time and was released as the premier model of Magnatone's "Golden-Voiced Magna-Touch Guitars". All three models were built with a "Hollow Watch Body" but this was the only model that featured a full scale length of 24 3/4", as well as two single coil pickups with adjustable pole pieces. Nothing else like it!
