The source for all things Energy at NYU Stern The Stern Energy Club is one of NYU Stern’s newer student-run organizations.
Our mission is to provide the Stern community with educational, career and networking opportunities within the energy industry. We aim to bring together individuals from all parts of this industry - traditional, renewable, financing, operations, and marketing - and those who want to learn more about how energy can affect their businesses.

Join the Stern Energy Club on Thursday, November 19th as we welcome David Martinelli to give an overview of MLPs and related energy infrastructure. About David
Mr. Martinelli has nearly two decades’ experience in MLPs and energy infrastructure, having founded Harvest and having previously served as principal and majority owner of Glenmoor Partners LLC which led a management buyout of the General Partner of Buckeye Pipeline Company, a NYSE-listed MLP, from the Penn Central Corporation in 1996. During his tenure at Buckeye, Mr. Martinelli engineered the financial restructuring of the Company and directed corporate acquisitions in excess of $150 million. Prior to joining Buckeye, Mr. Martinelli was an investment banker with Salomon Brothers in New York; Paine Webber International in London; and Drexel Burnham Lambert in both London and New York. Mr. Martinelli has a B.S. in Finance from Syracuse University and an M.B.A. from the Stern School of Business at New York University.

IFP School (Institute François du Petrol or French Petroleum Institute) is launching with the support of Total the first specialized oil and gas Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), “Oil & Gas: from exploration to distribution”.
Offered in English and subtitled in French, the MOOC will be taught over four weeks, from May 11 to June 5, 2015
The MOOC lasts four weeks, with two hours work per week. A certificate of achievement is awarded. To reach the score needed to obtain the certificate, learners are assessed in an innovative way via video games.
The free course targets anyone with at least one or two years of higher education interested in the oil and gas sector and related professions. The subject matter covered includes:
• The roles of the different industry players and the issues and challenges related to oil and gas.
• The operations deployed to explore for and produce crude oil and gas, refine crude oil into end products and market it.
• The economics of the oil and gas value chain, pricing and cost structuring.
