🍇New Producer!!!
Pascal Thereau is an up-front, young, and sincere person, he tells you like it is and the wines are as such transparent and alive. For many years, he spent his professional life in the art of sourcing wood and crafting barrels. In 2018, he started part-time studying in Beaune and working at Domaine André et Mireille Tissot with Stéphane his mentor.
In 2021, he made his first cuvée “Coup de Feu” a 100% Chardonnay from a parcel in Arbois called “La Régole”.
In 2022, he obtained several parcels from Tissot and Domaine les Bodines. Today, the estate consists of 6ha of various lieu-dits;
“Les Tourillons” situated above the village of Arbois, 4.3 acres in elevation and planted with Savagnin and Chardonnay the soil is made of limestone.
“Les Bodines” 8 acres of mostly clay and limestone soil planted with Pinot Noir, Poulsard, Savagnin and Trousseau.
“Les Corvées” 0.5 acre planted with Chardonnay on red marl.
Pascal farms his vineyards organically and has been certified since 2023. Regarding winemaking, minimum intervention prevails, all the reds spend time in tanks to keep a fruit-forward style, while the whites ferment in barrels and are aged in wood, amphoras, concrete, or wood tank. The winery is called La Patelle, named after a Kiosque located in the lieu-dit Les Tourillons and made in the form of patella shells. The small roof stalled which was abandoned, was rebuilt by Pascal identically.
5 Wines:
- Le Kiosque Vin de France 2022: Chardonnay from Les Tourillons, direct press, aging in wood tank, amphora and concrete diamond
-Les Bodillons: Savagnin from les Bodines and Les Tourillons, direct press, aging in tanks. The name comes from the 2 parcels.
- Poids Plume 2022: 100% Poulsard from Les Bodines, 2.5 weeks of maceration all destemmed grapes and aging in stainless steel - no SO2 added. Poids P
- Dévers 2022: Pinot Noir from Les Bodines. 3 weeks of maceration whole cluster, daily foot pigeage, aging in stainless steel. Dévers refers to a very steep slope.
- Bout d’Vin 2022: Trousseau from Les Bodines. 2.5 weeks of maceration all destemmed, aging in stainless steel. The name comes from Pascal’s son.

New Sparkling chëpìka 2023 - Just In Time for Your Summer!

Despite terrible climatic ordeals, mostly due to spring frost, Nathan Kendall & Pascaline Lepeltier were able to bottle a single cuvée in 2023 from the Buzzard Crest vineyards near Keuka Lake. A blend of 76% Concord and 24% Catawba, hand-picked on 10/08 and 10/09. As usual native yeasts, co-fermented and bottled in late November. The second fermentation was carried out by a culture they made from the sweet must of Concord kept in cold storage. 5 months on the lees and hand disgorged in late April and early May. No Dosage, No SO2 added, Low Abv 10%.
The wine is simply DELICIOUS and carries the qualities of the Concord and Catawba, floral, rhubarb, tight and small bubbles with a brisk acidity and low alcohol, a perfect wine for Summer.

✨✨NICOLA GATTA✨✨

Nestled up in the hills of Gussago overlooking the Po valley sits the winery and his artisan vigneron Nicola Gatta. Nicola for the last three decades has been one of the few winemakers changing the face of Italian traditional method sparkling wines in his region. For Nicola, everything starts in the vineyard, the comprehension of the soil, altitude, exposure, rootstocks, grapes, the farming of it and the important time of harvest. The winemaking is with no intrants, all indigenous yeasts, full malo, aging in a variety of well-chosen casks, in addition the metodo classico is carried without the addition of SO2, only autochthonous yeasts via a meticulous selection of dried grapes, finally a long period of maturation expressed in moons rather than months.  Nicola allows us to discover and enjoy profound and fully enjoyable sparkling wines showing terroir, a radical approach. We are thrilled to represent Nicola Gatta in New York and New Jersey. His first cuvee Quattrocento 40 Lunes, Blanc de Blancs 50 Lunes and Rose de Noirs 70 Lunes just arrived!!!

Excited to welcome Domaine du Chapitre from Chenonceaux Val de Loire to our NY/NJ customers! The Domaine is a vineyard managed by siblings Maryline and François DESLOGES. It is based in Saint Romain sur Cher in the Loire Valley area and was founded at the beginning of the XIX century.
François made his first harvest in 1982 and Maryline joined the vineyard a couple of years later. As 5th generation winemakers, their aim is to produce high quality wines reflecting the specific terroir of Touraine and Touraine Chenonceaux. The team is also composed by François’s son Valentin, a 6th generation of winemaker. Valentin is in charge of the vineyard and the winemaking process with his father.
The Domaine du Chapitre farms 28 hectares of vines (15-45 year old vines) in two AOP: Touraine and Touraine Chenonceaux, both on the bank of the Cher river. The terroir is comprised of different soil types. Sand with flint is dominant near the Cher river while clay and limestone is found further North.
The Domaine du Chapitre Vineyard has been practicing sustainable farming for many years, and will start the organic certifcation in 2022. For example, they have been using soft tillage, letting more land to go uncultivated and also increased biodiversity with beehives throughout in the vineyard.
The wines are quite aromatic with ripe flavors of citrus and grapefruit, mouthfeel is full and yet fresh, nice and long finish showing a slight mineral quality.

Thrilled to annonce that we are now representing and distributing the wines of Outward from San Luis Obispo.
Natalie Siddique and Ryan Pace started Outward Wines in 2016 to share their love of Syrah and the Central Coast of California. Partners in life and in business, Natalie and Ryan are incredible rock climbers (El Capitan in 15 hours!) and avid travelers who love to explore wine regions the world over. They bring that focus and inspiration to their winemaking and have created a unique and surprising portrait of Central Coast wine.
Since that first vintage Outward has grown to use 10 different grape varieties from coastal sites spanning San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Monterey counties. Each wine is single variety and single site, making Outward one of the most terroir-focused wineries in the area. Diverse places like Shell Creek Vineyard in Paso Robles (some of the first vines in SLO County, planted 1971) to biodynamic practicing hillside Bassi Vineyard near Avila Beach and ancient sand dunes turned vineyard Presqu’ile in Santa Maria Valley are just a few of the snapshots of the county from Outward.
Most of the vineyards they source from are practicing or certified organic. Natalie and Ryan are supporting other growers through their certification process and encouraging them through the farming transition, part of their long-term goal to bring more organic farming to the area. The vineyards range from 200 to 1500ft and include marine-based soil types, mostly sandy loam. All wines are made in neutral oak barrels, are unfined, and unfiltered.

Pierre-Henri Rougeot was our first producer to visit New York since late 2019, also his first time to visit New York and introduce his micro-négociant wines. Pierre-Henri seeks out quality producers/friends who are farming organic or biodynamic in the Côte d’Or. He exchanges his grapes from the family Domaine with other grapes from areas such as Côtes de Nuits Villages “Les Plantes du Bois”, Gevrey-Chambertin “En Reniard” or from his estate like Pommard “la Rue au Port”, “Meursault sous La Velle”. His approach is very minimalist only a few barrels produced, minimum intervention, with long élevage.
You can and will be able to find his wines in few days:

The new release of chëpika is simply the best we have experienced since 2017! The first Concord 2021 is such a surprise, the aromatic is a down to memory lane experience, has a pure texture, glouglou overall feeling, everyone who tasted it smiled as soon as they smelled it. The Delaware petnat is without a doubt our favorite so far, the foam is incredible, the pressure in balance with the acidity, a little higher pressure than previous years, a texture that is more reminiscent of a traditional method and the acidity that follows through without being too high or too low, also the aromatic is more fruity and less foxy. These wines are simply gorgeous and tell us about what native hybrid grapes are capable to offer in the hands of great farmers and these 2 great minds &

✨The discovery of a producer is always a thrill for wine lovers especially if this winemaker is a newcomer and the result is a revelation.

Jérôme Lefevre, from Champagne Delalot, is one of those exciting revelations.

Jérôme is a native of the “Far West” of the Marne valley, at the edge of the Champagne appellation, in the towns of Saulchery, Charly Sur Marne, Bonneil and Crogy. Here, Jérôme creates Champagne Delalot and Champagne Jerome Lefevre.
Jérôme’s teenage years were guided by a deep passion for heavy metal and the family life of vineyards trained by his mother, Eliane Delalot. Not till several years of working as an art critic and art curator did Jerome’s passion towards the craft of Champagne arise. Elaine’s respectful farming practices became certified organic certification in 2009.
Inspired by the Fukuoka principals of farming, Jerome began his journey into winemaking.

Since his first harvest in 2013, Jerome has grown his vineyards from 1ha to 1.5ha while tending to his land like a gardener. He does not use any heavy machinery, including tractors. The vineyards are located on slopes facing south and southeast with predominately sandy soil and some clay.

It’s impossible to classify Jerome’s style. Each cuvée comes from specific parcels and are experimental. He seeks the boundaries of what Champagne allows him to do and sometimes tries new techniques while maintaining respect of the terroir. As it is hard to find more vineyards, Jerome’s Champagne Delalot production is limited to 5,000 bottles.
Seeking to further push experimentation, Jerome started an additional project in 2017 with a micro-negoce named Champagne Jérôme Lefevre.

These cuvées are even more avant-garde, Rated X (named in honor of the Miles Davis’s album) is a wine without dosage but full or residual sugar backed with acidity. The Coteaux Champenois Composition #1 is made from red grapes vinified white and aged in barrels with some oxidative moments through the aging.
As Champagne changes, Jerome is at the forefront of a new generation of wine producers that offer us wine lovers with that thrill of a first-time discovery.

SÉLÉNÉ PRIMEUR 2021 IS COMING!!!! 🎈
2021 was an intense and difficult year for Sylvère, first Beaujolais endured spring frost, then lots of rain limiting the work in the vineyards and bringing disease pressure, because of all this and a strict sorting Sylvere produced only one third of his average production, about 10hl per ha. Most of his Domaine grapes will go in his Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villages wines. The Nouveau 2021 release is therefor a blend of two third certified organic grapes from his neighbor located next to him in Blacé on the same type of soil; silt, clay and rich in manganese and one third from his Domaine. After few days of carbonic maceration the wine fermented with native yeasts in concrete and was bottled filtered and without any addition of SO2. 🍀
The wine is due to arrive on November, 20th in our stock 🚚

Look what just landed!!! 2020 wines from Benoit Courault. In 2021, Ben was able to invest and purchased his neighbor’s vineyards who has been farming organically for years. That means more work for Ben in the cellar (he is not a fan) but to his joy more time in the vineyards. The good news for all of us is that we will be able to supply you with more wines in the coming years if Mother Nature is more merciful than the previous vintages. In the mean time, the 2020s are here in our warehouse.
- Le Petit Chemin 2020: 100% Chenin Blanc, The wine is showing great balance between the body and the tension in the finish, precise but also gourmand with flavors of white fruits.
Ephèmère 2020 2nd bottling: Ben released a primeur version earlier this year, a blend of Grolleau and Cabernet Franc, this one is the same wine with 6 additional months in tanks. Lively primeur style but with a little more concentration.
- Eglantine Petillant Naturel Rosé 2020: It’s BACK!!!! And it’s delicious. Made with 25% Pineau d'Aunis, 25% Grolleau, 50% Cabernet Franc. Color is a pink grapefuit foggy, nice bubbles, crunchy red fruits with a bit of RS.
- Les Tabeneaux 2020: This is a blend of 70% Cabernet Franc and 30%. Aromatically driven by red fruits raspberry and cherry, the tannins are silky, with a finish that is refreshing.

Excited to introduce our new producer from Ardèche RÉMI LEORAT / DOMAINE MIRABEL CHARMIS. The only vineyards Located few miles South of Saint-Péray, he started in 2010 with only 1 ha that his grandfather was farming until he turned 82 years. After few harvests brought to the co-op of Thain l’Hermitage, Rémi made a garage wine with Syrah. Confident of his first trial, he decided to dedicate his life to making wine. From 2014 until 2017 he planted 4ha including 1ha of Marsanne and Roussanne. From the start, Rémi took care of his plants in an organic way. Since 2019, he started the official certification. In the cellar, he favors destemmed maceration, light extraction and aging in concrete. The result is a juicy and ready to drink wine and typical of the Northern Rhône, violets and fresh berries and a savory mouthfeel. Probably one of the best value right now available in the market. Introducing our first estate from 🇨🇱Chile in our portfolio « VeraSolis »
……
VeraSolis is a collaboration between 2 young winemakers from the Itata Valley in Chile, Ronald Vera and Pablo Solis. Ronald is a third generation winemaker, having grown up working the vines with his father and grandfather. After his studies, he returned to help in the vineyards and was the first to bottle their wine in 2016. Pablo, since he was 5, has always worked with his father and the vines. Because of his hard work, he was given a vineyard to work on his own and eventually inherited more land from his grandmother.

The Cinsault, from Ronald, is from 90 year old vines on granitic soil.
The Moscatel, from Pablo, is from 80 year old vines which thrive in a more clay based terroir.
All farming practices are organic using horses in the vineyard and fertilizer made from manure and guano (from seagulls). Both winemakers note that the most difficult challenge for their farming is the slopes of Guarilihue (their village) which holds them to 100 year old traditional farming practices. Technology, therefore, can not be used in their vineyards and so all labor is done by hand and horse.
The wines just arrived In our stock and are available in NY/NJ.

The wine has just arrived and is already showing a juicy palate, lively structure and fine tannins. Classic Chinon!

EMMANUEL BROCHET IS BACK!!!
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Le Mont Benoit 1er Cru Extra Brut R17:
Probably Emmanuel’s toughest year since its debut in 1999. 70% less yields than previous years due to a very damaging spring frost. The average yields were around 10hl/ha! This release is made of 30% 2017 and 70% of reserve wine from 2011 until 2016. It’s usually the opposite 80% base wine and 20% reserve. The blend is made of 40% Pinot Meunier (a little more than previous releases), 40% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. In terms of winemaking, the juice was fermented with wild yeasts in barrels and aged until August 2018. During the second fermentation the yeasts were all consumed before the sugar was, therefore there are 5g of rs left that’s why in this release Emmanuel did 0 dosage. Disgorgement date 12/20. The R17 is definitely a more creamy wine, with a wider and richer texture

Rosé de Saignée 1er Cru Extra Brut R18:
First release of the Rosé de Saignée. The grapes come from a grower located in the same village Villers-aux-Noeuds. The vines were planted in 1965 in the lieu-dit “La Motelle” and are certified organic. This vintage is the opposite of 2017, the quantities were way higher, on average the yields were around 100hl/ha, riper grapes and great acidity. The destemmed maceration lasted 24 hours in open stainless steel tank with 3 pumping overs, and after pressing, the juice went for 11 months in 30% new barrels from Rousseau and 70% 1 to 3 years old barrels. It was disgorged with 2g/l on 12/2020. 100% 2018 harvest.

New Wine in! Macchion dei Lupi 500 Orange Sui Lieveti Suvereto Tuscany from Carlo Parenti

In 2005, Carlo Parenti started his dream, his winery Macchion dei Lupi. A land that he purchased in 2003, 2ha exactly, and planted himself. Unfortunately, after 2 years and an extremely hot summer the vineyards did not survived. He had to re-start from begigning. It is located in the hills of the Tuscan Maremma, near the medieval town of Suvereto. It is a fascinating landscape and also an intense place to grow vines. Today he farms 4.5ha of vines and also olive trees that are certfied organic and follows the biodynamic principles. Carlo grows Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Ansonica and Trebbiano. There are 2 types of soils; sand and volcanic rocks and schists which translates to very aromatic wines and saline. Harvest is done manually. The vinifications are all done with indigenous yeasts and the wine are never fined or filtered and with a small amount of SO2 added at bottling. Total production is on average 20,000 bottles.

500 Sui Lieviti 2019 is 100% Trebbiano - 6 days of skin maceration - aging of the wine in stainless steel until last June- before he bottled he added to the wine a small quantity of unfermented must to start the second fermentation. It was disgorged so there is not too much sediments.
The label is an homage to Leonardo de Vinci, it was created in collaboration with the street artist , the intention is to represent Mona Lisa trapped in today’s consumerism. Why 500? The name of the wine is “500” because in 2019 (the first vintage) it was the commemoration of Leonardo Da Vinci's death (500 years ago) but also 500 is the main biodynamic preparation.

THE FIRST RELEASE OF DOMAINE DES FRÈRES ARRIVES AND THE WINE IS SIMPLY DELICIOUS

📖The Story: Domaine des Frères was created by two brothers, Henri and Valentin. They grew up near Chinon and both became engineers. After several years working in the fields of engineering they both realized that they were not fit to stay in an office. Passionate about wine, Henri was the first to change course. In 2013, Henri went back to school in Bergerac and obtained a degree in viticulture and oenology. He began his Tour de France in the South West, Loir et Cher and Touraine. His most impactful experience was his time spent with Patrick Corbineau, who became his mentor. In 2015, Valentin followed and graduated from the school of Mâcon. Valentin’s first work study began with Yvon and Jules Métras. After looking for two years, in October 2019, they took over a unique estate in Beaumont-en-Véron comprised of 27 acres planted with vines between 35 and 50 years old and on a hillside containing 7 different and distinct terroirs. The farming is organic with precise and thoughtful tisanes, harvest is done by hand and picked very early in the morning, so the grapes arrive cold in the local tuffeau limestone cellar.

🍷The Wine: Le Pérou is the name of the lieu-dit in the AOP Chinon near the village Beaumont-en-Véron. It is a parcel of 2ha planted 35 years ago and located right in the middle of a forest that is protected by Natura 2000 (Natura 2000 is a network of nature protection areas in the territory of the European Union). The vines are planted facing South on a plateau with a top soil made of loess on flint and the bedrock limestone. The micro-climate is more semi-Mediterranean. The grapes were hand harvested early in the morning, 10 days of maceration, wild yeasts fermentation, aging in concrete vats, no addition of SO2 until bottling (2g/hl). The wine is full of crunchy fruits, i’s light, juicy and refreshing. Pure and Stunning wine to share!
