Well done to the second year BA (Hons) Marketing and Digital Media class South East Technological University Waterford campus for carrying out a market research project with the client being the wonderful dust + rock which includes the iconic wrist wallet and travel cube in its product portfolio https://dustandrock.com/ Thanks to the amazing Susan Furniss Radley who is the entrepreneurial wizard behind dust + rock, pictured with the students at the Imaginarium GROWTHhub SETU Waterford (with thanks to Emma) where they presented their findings.
This week, the BSc Fashion Buying and Retail Management students, as part of their Applied Marketing Research Module, presented their final posters for the live case study company - @ Victoria's Incredible Edibles (https://lnkd.in/eM5cq4Uu).
As part of their assessment brief, students were tasked with researching the potential market opportunities for a new product offering – 'Protein Bites’, along with testing packaging and labelling options for the new product among the 18–25-year-old market. The students gathered data via secondary research and primary research utilising online surveys, conducting interviews, taste testing and observation. The insights gathered were then used to determine if there was market potential for the product among this age cohort, and informed recommendations for the development of retail/marketing strategies. The students did a fantastic job of walking the client – Victoria, through their detailed findings.
Victoria said “as a small business owner, this research will make a significant difference to my decision to bring my protein bites to market. Launching a new product involves a lot of risks early in the development process, but this research will definitely help me mitigate these risks. The data and feedback gathered by the students will help me reduce the likelihood of making costly mistakes. Their findings have provided me with invaluable information that will undoubtedly shape the future of my business and the development of the new product, my protein bites. I am deeply grateful for the time and effort they have dedicated to this project".
Thank you Victoria Wilmott for providing the opportunity for students to apply their knowledge and gain real world experience.
