The work we do matters and makes an impact! What do Autistic students want you to know about acceptance in school? Here are a few message from Autistic K-12 graduates that detail what they struggled with most during their school days. Let's strive for authentic inclusion at our Nest schools so that all learners can equitably access an education! #autismacceptance #WorldAutismAwarenessDay [Video description: What do autistic individuals want you to know about acceptance in school? What do autistic students struggle with school? "I was ostracized and bullied... I was very confused, and this made my self-esteem and mental health plummet." "I suffer from migraines, so that I was extremely difficult for everyone to understand." "I always missed a lot of social cues. I'd go home and just completely unravel from all of the masking I had to do in order to survive." "Lunch time was the hardest, due to trouble making and keeping friends. I often hid in the bathroom." Video footage of students walking down a school hallway and an empty classroom. Together at our Nest schools, let's build awareness and foster acceptance for our autistic students.
