Marie Lorenz’s DRIFT TILT opens tonight from 6-8pm! 🛶

DRIFT TILT will feature collage and kinetic sculptures cast from debris washed up on the city’s shore. These artworks reflect Lorenz’s ongoing exploration of New York by boat. Like objects emerging from an eroding bank, or a group of contemporary fossils, they preserve impressions of discarded objects.

Jack Hanley Gallery is pleased to present Contemporary Fossil Record, a group exhibition featuring Lorenzo Bueno, Zora Moniz, Liz Magic Laser, Marie Lorenz, Clémence de La Tour du Pin, Lyric Shen, Sofia Sinibaldi, & Jeff Williams.

The exhibition showcases works that, like fossils, record human existence through a fragmented collection of impressions, molds, and traces of activity. The artists use the textural landscape of their surroundings to delve into the evolving significance and decay of objects, spaces, and memories.

Works from ’s exhibition, Virtually Blessed, on view through May 25th! The pre-loaded debit cards represent the top 10 popular religions in the US, and are able to “Virtually Bless” purchased items. These functional debit cards serve as symbols of consumerism and transactionalism, yet they also carry a deeper, intangible value bestowed upon them through the act of their blessing. The blessing imbues not only the cards themselves but also the future transactions made with them, creating a ripple effect of spiritual significance.
