Cartoonist dedicated to making your day a little more enchanted with art!
Cowboy Tea/rs- cartoon constructivism.
Tom Waits- cartoon constructivism.
Happy 95th Birthday, Mickey Mouse! I really should draw him more often.
Matterhorn Mountain Climber. This is older, but I’m really wanting to be at Disneyland today, so I’m sharing it.
Cartoon Constructivism? This is old, but I would like to do some more drawings and paintings like this when I make the time for it.
“Despicable ACTS of Grief” - sketchbook- acrylic on two pieces of paper (I cut a hole and used paint to stick my last sketch under this one, showing the one face I like). I looked at some crying faces online for reference. I didn’t look at any Daffy Duck faces for reference- Can you tell?
Sketchbook painting- acrylic on paper.
Dear Disney, please just cast Mr. Toad as all the characters in a “Haunted (Toad Hall) Mansion” movie. I promise it will return all the money your other Haunted Mansion movies lost. The story doesn’t even need to make sense. It’s time to give the people what they don’t know they NEED! HATBOX TOAD!
c-ART-oon of a c-ART-oonist thinking about the life, death, and ART of Mark Rothko.
Another older drawing.
More older art. If you feel like this guy, know that many people do. If you feel like you’re sinking in life, like you are trapped and being pulled down by all your problems, rather than trying to fight or solve them, allow yourself to accept and experience them. Just like quicksand, the harder we struggle or focus on trying to solve our problems, the more they have a hold on us, and the faster we sink with them. If we take a moment to relax and let ourselves experience the reality of our problems, only then do we find the clarity to gently wiggle our way to solid ground. I know this is a cliche analogy, but it really helps me, and it might help you... if you need/want it. Problems are to be experienced, not solved; Learning from them offers the transcendence that will elevate you above and beyond them.
An old sketch. Red on black, friend of Jack. Red on yellow, kill a fellow.
I forgot about these drawings, or I guess the practice of doing these kind of drawings. They are a series of rough doodles that I was doing to help me relax, think, and play around with no self inflicted pressure to draw “well”. I’m going to try and start doing more. I think I like them more than my ultra rendered drawings- at least right now that is how I feel.
I lost my younger brother, Linn, on this day 12 years ago. He was my best friend and one of the funniest people I’ve ever known. This photo best captures his vaudevillian sense of humor and energy. I often use him as a reference when creating silly cartoon antics for characters I’m working on, and I owe a lot of my creative spirit to growing up with him. I am only posting this to keep his memory alive. Though I appreciate the sentiment, I prefer no sympathy or condolences. Just love who you can while you can. I miss you, brother.
I hope you all had a fun Halloween! I personally like that Halloween is only one day of the year, but I also think it is ok to celebrate it a little bit every day of the year. Haha.
Wishing you all a very Happy Halloween!
I didn’t have much time to make new Halloween art this year, so here is some more old art. I hope you all are enjoying the spooky season!
Another older Halloween drawing.
The veil is thinning! An older self portrait I did for a few years back. Also, I highly recommend the haunting tunes of for all the perfect Halloween feels!
Happy Friday the 13th!
This is a drawing I did a year or two back, but I think this ghost might be my inspiration for my Halloween costume this year. Do you guys have any spooky fun costumes in the works?
Happy October! I hope you all have a fun spooky season full of magic! Here is a quick digital painting I did to celebrate my favorite time of year!
“Cheers to six great years!!
It's surreal to think about how much time has passed since we launched our little animated adventure.
To all the pals in our wonderful Cuphead community, and anyone who has ever taken a trip to the Inkwell Isles, our deepest thanks.”
