At this year’s LEDucationNYC, Founder & Principal Designer Christien Methot gave a case study presentation on the design and installation process of our award-winning Gershwin Theater Façade project.

Meet Nick McGlynn! Nick started with Design One Lighting in 2015, and has been our Production Manager since 2022.

Silver and gold! In the MUSE Design Awards, two of our landmark projects from the last year received recognition. The large-scale art installation by Christien Methot, Light:Bridge, was awarded Gold Winner in the category of Lighting Design & Art; and our design for 685 Third Avenue under the leadership of Weston Wetzel was given silver in the category of Architectural Lighting.

Design One Lighting is celebrating International Women’s Day by hearing from two of our team members, Renee and Maria.

Today we added a shiny new plaque to our studio wall commemorating the honorable mention in the LIT awards for our design at 685 Third Avenue! The continued praise for this project reminds us why we do what we do here at Design One Lighting.

Friday flashback! A quick pic of an architectural project we completed in 2018 at 257 Park Avenue for the Feil Organization. Linear grazer uplights draw the eyes up to the beautiful marble work, and simple decorative fixtures widen the narrow elevator corridor.

Today our team spotlight is on our Senior Lighting Designer, Weston Wetzel! For over a decade, Weston has been an integral part of Design One Lighting, primarily leading on architectural projects, while also designing key live ones.
