One of my favorite quick sketch tools: A dollar store mechanical pencil! Never let's me down when I need a quick, clean, erasable tool for my watercolor sketches. And to think I was so against mechanical pencils when I was in my first years of learning at the Atelier level. Goes to show...work with whatever is most comfortable for YOU. Teachers GUIDE you, but YOU are ultimately the decider in the end! The most important: Learn to enjoy the journey!

My Story...
Photography found me while a new mother: Needing to get a part-time job I was hired at Sears portrait studios even though I had no prior photography experience or knowledge. As I worked I longed to know how the camera produced such vibrant images. In my quest for knowledge I happened on New York Institute of Photography in 2006. I also joined an online forum and became both student , mentor and moderator within a few short years at Photography Corner. In 2008, I graduated the prestigious New York Institute of Photography and earned my professional studies diploma. I now have over 10 yrs experience as a professional portrait photographer in the Hudson Valley region. The start of my photography business saw me as a newborn and family photographer, however, I quickly branched out into bo***ir, fitness and conceptual photography. In addition to running a full service studio and working part time as a hospital newborn photographer, I also currently teach and mentor new photographers with hands on experience and camera knowledge.
