Alexa,

The Hairy Eyeball
In honor of life outside the screen, we are having a party for primitive mediation: eyes, ears, hands, and the private interior space behind the eyes will have free reign. For one hour there will be a living “book-on-tape” (Lara Allen) reading from her tragic/comedy, Too Many Tammys, a work derived from personal experience of being locked up and technically “brainwashed” as an adolescent, and subsequent attempts to understand that experience through research done as an adult. From the immersive, roiling present of a teenage psyche that staggers between different periods and memories, this chaotic and possibly mad perspective aims at unraveling internalized discipline while elevating the multitude of voices in each person. At The Hairy Eyeball, you are invited to draw from a tableau vivant featuring artist Baker Overstreet, or to write, or scribble, or stare at the wall, to sleep, daydream, to listen, or not listen. For a brief time, we will be together in one room as our senses commingle while wandering out of frame.

There are three artists and their works. Artists discover an essence in everyday life, and through the perspectives we learn to see our world from different perspectives and get life inspirations. Thank you, artists! by

A GROUP EXHIBITION IN THREE PARTS, FEATURING WORKS-IN-PROGRESS
BY ALEXA HOYER, BETSY KENYON, HYEWON PARK
July 8 - July 22, 2021
1026 6th Avenue Suite 201, New York, NY 10018
Gallery Open Hour: Wed - Sat, 12-5pm
Opening Reception: Thu, July 8, 5-8pm
"Trio offers three ongoing perspectives on the pandemic from three distinct photographers. Alexa Hoyer’s Wegweiser documents the public-private language of social distance markings as a hidden language or possibly as a key to a secret game; Betsy Kenyon’s Slumber records the bodies of sleepers in rest and unrest in long exposures that reveal the comforts and the anxieties contained in our private chambers; and the limited, circular scope of the exposed areas in images of Hyewon Park’s Far Side of the Moon snaps a new lens on the details of bodies and faces we see everyday." - KC Trommer

In May, in celebration of “Asia Pacific American Heritage Month,” a special film screening will be held at the Kenektid X Gallery.
The Kenektid X Gallery, holding its second independent film screening this year and will be screening three independent short films by two Asian film directors (Hsuan Yu Pan, Jeongwon Lee) currently actively working in New York.
This event on Saturday May 22nd, which runs from 4:30pm to 7 pm, consists of independent film screenings of less than 10 minutes each, followed by a conversation with the two directors.
The theme such as awareness of family, love, and life in the movie “Minari”, which was recently nominated for six Academy Awards, is having a good influence on other communities outside of the Asian community. As such, art and culture contents play an important medium connecting not only the Asian community, but all ethnic groups. The ‘Kenektid X Gallery’ will strive to provide opportunities for creators who create these creations to meet with the public through a program called Creator's Playground.
