or better yet, come in and see for yourself! Please note that although I may display books here from time to time, I don’t SELL books through Facebook or Instagram, and the messaging feature is turned off.
I almost forgot about these! The last few boxes from the excellent collection that came in several weeks ago. Thanks to Michael for the unpacking and stacking! Shop is open Friday and Saturday 1-6. Wish I could be open all weekend but I’m just not up to it. Please CALL or EMAIL to reserve, inquire, or buy.
Good ol’ books from an estate. The apartment was being emptied and I got a call saying that all the books were going in the dumpster. Heartbreaking—and not uncommon. These are the gems I bought, and brought downtown with Bennie’s help. There’s also one super-gem, which I’ll show you soon. I’m still laid up with a very bad back, so shop hours are limited. Please CALL or EMAIL to buy, reserve, or ask questions about these.
Three more boxes unpacked. All good stuff! Please CALL, “e”’ or visit if interested. Please note: I’m having some serious back problems and shop hours will be limited for a while. Hero Chris is filling in.
Many hands make light work. Or if not light, at least possible. More to come. CALL or EMAIL, please, w/questions or orders.
360 new books from another fine, well-cared-for collection. I was the proverbial kid in a candy store (you should see me at !). Started unpacking but have a long way to go. Please come in, call, or email with questions and orders. Huge thanks to Chris and Bennie for hauling these around for me!
This just in—beautifully cared for books from an estate. The Cecilia Chiang books are SIGNED. Please call or email with questions or orders. I can ship anywhere. #

Still unpacking . . . Call or “e” or come on in if interested!
Up to my old tricks! It felt sooooooo good to get back to in-person book hunting. This is about half of the books I chose from a collection in the West Village. The rest will be unpacked soon. Thanks to Bennie for carrying the ten weighty boxes! I still can’t carry more than a few books at a time and am lucky that I haven’t tripped over my cane. Please call or “e” if you’re interested in any of these. cookbook
She’s up! She’s out! She’s back! But not full-time just yet. I’ll be in the shop more often and will start getting back to normal hours. THANK YOU to everyone who’s helped me, wished me well, and been patient and understanding while I get back up to speed. Photo by my amazing next-door neighbor, who at 90 puts me to shame as a cellphone user.
The view from above . . . Ugh! I slipped and fell on the street Thursday morning, en route to look at a really great cookbook collection. I came down hard on my left knee and broke my kneecap. Yup, that hurts! Four days post-op I’m ready to go home, which is three flights up. Chris will open the shop as much as possible while I recuperate, which should take about six weeks. I’ll be reachable for him to ask me questions, but book searches and shipping will have to wait.
Check my website, voicemail, or door sign for future hours. I’ll be back!!
More!

The books came in on little cat feet . . . So why does my back hurt so much? Fifteen of these cartons, filled with only the best out-of-print treasures. Additional glimpses to come as I unpack.
