HWKN
HWKN is a global architectural design firm. We create buildings that are inspired by local forces, shifts within society, and the power of creativity.
In the Middle East, HWKN is exploring these concepts in bold, innovative ways. The region’s rapid urban development and cultural heritage of impermanence make it an ideal testing ground for such futuristic ideas. “No other place is pushing the boundaries of urban living more than cities in the Middle East,” says Hollwich.

We are thrilled to celebrate the completion of our latest project, interior public amenities for a mixed-use development in Dublin, Ireland. In this project, columns become central elements of identity and placemaking within the space. Each zone within the building features uniquely designed columns that enhance its functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Die Macherei wins: 2024 Architecture & Interiors Awards. “What it's bringing to the urban environment … I was kind of like, wow, they’re getting away with this, and that’s pretty impressive. And the brick exterior skin, personally I loved it.” – Juror John Frane

Our Grand Junction Plaza pavilion houses a café with winter skate rental and locker rooms, its eye-catching form is derived from “splitting open” a (conceptual) block of limestone, part of homage to what lies beneath this flat Midwestern plain.
