Saratoga Library celebrates the centennial of the birth of author, writer, essayist, playwright, and orator James Baldwin (August 2, 1924 - December 1, 1987).

Please feel free to borrow any material by James Baldwin from Saratoga Library and other branches of Brooklyn Public Library.

Summer at the Movies takes place in the Saratoga Library Meeting Room at 3:30 PM.

The feature presentation will be the classic movie DO THE RIGHT THING (1989, directed by Spike Lee).

Free Summer Meals will be distributed in the Saratoga Library Meeting Room at 1 PM.

After School Stories/Garden Club will take place in the Saratoga Library Meeting Room at 4:30 PM. It is an Inclusive Services program - for chilldren with and without disabilities.

After School Stories/Garden Club | Brooklyn Public Library Come and hear stories, sing songs, make something fun, and work in the garden! For children 6-12 years old with and without disabilities. Group size limited to 12. A parent or caregiver must accompany children. ASL Interpretation available upon advanced request.

Teen DIY: Slime will take place in the Teen Tech Center at 4 PM.

Kids Create: Arts and Crafts Time will take place in the Children's Room at 3:30 PM.

Saratoga Period Pantry is an ongoing program that is run on patron donations. The mission is to combat period poverty in Brooklyn, as well as teaching young uterine-owners about the variety of menstrual hygiene products are available, thus giving them a chance to explore their preferences regarding how they approach their menstrual cycles. Please ask our own YA Libraian Lanisha LeBlanc-Wright for more information.
