Following last week’s #SCOTUS decision on EMTALA, PRH President and CEO, Dr. Jamila Perritt (@reprorightsdoc) spoke with Katie Barlow from @fox5dc on the court ruling, medical care access, and what this ruling means for people within and outside of Idaho.
During the conversation, when asked about the ruling, Dr. Perritt said:
“What we know is that this ruling does not change the material conditions for people who are pregnant and who are seeking medical care. Especially for those who are seeking it in states where there are abortion bans or significant restrictions to access to abortion care. It is important for us to understand that not being left to d*e when seeking care during a medical emergency is the least of what pregnant people in Idaho and pregnant people around the country deserve.”
