This video is a little over 5 years old. Stormy was my daughter's 4h dog that I inherited to train when she got married. She is also the dog I was training when I decided to change careers from goldsmith to dog trainer. Here is her beginning.

Here is a training video from last year where this Corgi is just really reluctant about the down position. This shows the session where he begins to "get" it!
Cooper learns "down" Cooper learning down. He was very reluctant to get in the down position, but you can see my patience is paying off with him.

I cannot believe how wonderfully God has blessed this new chapter in our lives! This "office" I get to enjoy with the wonderful dogs that stay here and the families they belong to are all pretty great! Business has picked up. New clients are reaching out to me everyday! It is so rewarding to sit down with dog owners that quite frankly are a little frustrated with the dog. They've chosen as much as they love them and when they leave I get a sense that they have hope and have learned new things about how to communicate more clearly with their dogs! Each time I have an appointment, I'm so excited that I get to educate people on how to build their relationship with their dog in a way that brings more peace to their home!!
So glad to see this so called "trainer" was charged! Please do your research on someone you hire to work with your dog and observe their own dogs before hiring to teach you/your dog. Do they show video of their training with multiple dogs ?
“It’s just not fair to the dog. Dogs don’t have a voice,” the person who took the video said. “They don’t deserve that at all.” READ THE FULL STORY >> http://tinyurl.com/yhpdetrx
This is how I recommend tiring a young puppy out when they you don't have a fenced area or when the puppy still pulls a lot on leash. 10-25 min of this will really get them the exercise they need!

Halos second puppy Scent pad
Trimming your dogs nail should begin while they are still a pup. This should become part of a weekly routine as you check teeth and mouth, ears, eyes, paw and trim nails. In this way you will catch any issues that need veterinary attention as they begin. You will also notice ears that need to be cleaned. You can buy ear wash cleaners at pet stores and use a cotton ball to swab them out. In this picture, 3-month-old Halo is showing off her recent "manicure".
Halo is now 10 weeks old and learning how to walk on leash and do basic obedience behaviors like sit, down stand and come. She is about 20lbs and sleeps well in her crate through the night and naps throughout the day as we go about our business. She enjoys playing with Otto and Essy and is good about realizing when she's "too much" for them. On our walks when she sees other dogs she just looks at them. She's very neutral with no barking or lunging. Feel free to share this post to let others know about this amazing available puppy!

Here is an unedited training session this morning for Halo's breakfast. Her food ration for the day is a cup and a quarter. So I took a quarter cup of her kibble and we went through this training session. Afterwards she goes in her crate to process. I will repeat this process with lunch, snack and dinner. When I take her out of the crate we go straight to the area where I want her to potty and we play a little bit then we come in for a meal.

I will be going live in a bit to explain some exciting changes to coming to my business!
My friend Leah knows what she's talking about regarding Muzzles...
Charlie is a dog that is very nervous and has a lot of fears. He also has a very low food drive so it is really hard to get his attention and focus outside of the training room in my basement. When we get outside he is super distracted by every bird, every car, every wind that moves a flag, etc. This makes for a very difficult dog to train. So one of the things that's important for me to do is to build his confidence and to play with him a lot! This way he has a positive experience outside, playing and learns that outside is not that scary. This video may seem boring but really what I end up rewarding is the fact that he'll engage with me and play. And play is by itself rewarding as well.
Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇲
Today's pack walk included only two dogs, but these are two dogs that have a difficult time being calm around new people and other dogs; they are very reactive. In the picture you see Zuko and his handler, Caleigh and I'm handling Winston for his owner. Zuko came to me highly reactive back in January (I think). Caleigh has done a great job of putting in the time to train this dog to be brave and be around new situations through structure at home.
Today Zuko learned how to go over a very very scary bridge and became more confident through it!
Winston also learned a lot of self-control around a very energetic, larger dog. All in all it was a great success!
If you are one of my past clients, I would love to see you out at one of these pack walks so we can work on whatever problems you may still be having with your dog!
For future clients, I do hope to have some public pack walks to offer Open to anyone. Please share if you think you know anybody who would benefit from this type of offering.
