Recently, caregivers from our GOALS (Growing Our African American Leaders Systemwide) Employee Resource Group hosted a Juneteenth celebration in partnership with our Office of Inclusion & Diversity at our Christiana Hospital campus in Newark, DE.

Congratulations to Dawnell Keeler, RN, of Christiana Hospital for receiving the DAISY Award! 🎉 She was nominated by a grateful patient facing a potentially life-threatening complication. The patient said Dawnell was “not only my champion, but she was family when my actual family had to work, while I was in the hospital alone and scared.” Dawnell serves with as a nurse, advocate and voice for her patients. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, in an expansion of Komen’s screening and diagnostics program to income-eligible residents of Delaware. Under the program, Delaware women who meet income qualifications can access no-cost breast cancer screening mammograms and necessary diagnostic follow-up tests. Once approved by Susan G. Komen for care, they can select ChristianaCare for services.
