I wanted to share what I made for Linda for Mother's day. This was made from 4 different woods - Interior section is Curly Maple (Acer Rubrum), White Poplar (Populus alba L. (Salicaceae)), and Redheart (Ceanothus spinosus). The frame is made from Purpleheart (Peltogyne purpurea). This was cut by hand with my scroll saw. I was very happy to dust that off!!

I have long wanted to make this carving, and I'm glad I finally did. It was a challenge, but the end result is worth it. It is made from a solid block of cherry measuring ~16” x 8”. It is finished with danish oil and polished with carnuba wax.

Can you feel the force? Here’s a couple of Star Wars Aztec calendar carvings I’ve been working on. I finished the silver on last night. It’s tough to see, but the black one has some red undertones. I’m still working on that one.

Here’s something a little different. This Star Wars inspired tray is something I’ve been wanting to create for a while. A possible title for this charcuterie tray could be “Chewie’s Chewable Millennium Medley “. It’s 13” x 17” x 1.25”. Let me know what you think?

Note: This is a good example of repurposing/ recycling I do. The wood for this project was from a kitchen table being thrown out. It’s the same type of wood my kitchen table is made from (notice the background).

Here’s a new project that I really enjoyed making This carving is 5.5” round and is made from Purple Heart. Yes, this is the natural color of the wood with an oil finish. The wood will darken to a shade of brown over time.

I’ll be experimenting with other woods and sizes. This one is $45. Reach out if you are interested.

Crazy day today at the Tea and Treasures event. I met some great people. Sales were good but I still have some inventory. I’ll post more soon, but it’s time to rest our feet!

Getting ready for Christmas.

I will be having a booth at the Tea and Treasures event on Nov 18 at Centerville Presbyterian church in Fremont. I decided I needed to come up with something for the guys.

I’ve been quiet, but not idle. This 3D carving took over 20 hours on the CNC alone. I still have more work to do to finish it, but thought I would share it and say hi!

Hello Everyone! I wanted to let you know that I am getting closer to opening up my website. I have the basic structure completed, but I still need to do product descriptions, sizes and run tests on the cart and store. I am headed out on vacation through March 26, so there will not be any updates or responses from me until I get back.

What a great day. I was invited to set up a booth to sell at church event. This was my first time doing something like this. Sales were very good and I even have a number of custom orders. I guess I need to stay busy!

I’m getting closer on my website. I’m just trying to get my inventory uploaded and then test the site.

Working on a batch of Flag Crosses along with some other project. I have to make sure my garage is fully cluttered and filled of sawdust 😁.

I finished up a couple of bears today. Don’t they look cute?!

I have 1 large bear (~17”x~30”) available. The cost is $90 plus shipping. I have 3 smaller bears (~13”x~23”) available. The cost is $60 plus shipping.

Here is the next step in the process for making the bears. The material is painted with multiple colors to simulate the night sky. Each bear is unique with a variation of colors.

Once the paint dries, I will then add multiple layers of a finish coat which then will need to cure before I can carve it. Hopefully, I will start carving by Sunday.

I’ve started working on more Starry Bears. It’s not too exciting right now. It takes many days to prepare the material before I can carve it. This is just the beginning…

So, this is where the magic happens! It's an organized chaos, but seems to work for me. Every week I make some improvements and lots of saw dust.

I recycle (I guess the term now is upcycle) old furniture, but rather than refurbishing it, I utilize the materials for other projects. I hate seeing good wood being wasted and going to a landfill. My hope is to start sharing in the near future, some of the furniture finds I have acquired and show what can be made from them.

What you see painted below in the first photo is from a birch china hutch. The second photo shows the finished pieces along with other items made from an antique mahogany wardrobe and the wooden bed rails from a bed frame.

I'm haven't posted many items for sale yet, I'm building up some inventory and working on my website. But I do intend to get more out there soon.

I have been invited to set up a booth at an upcoming woman's conference at my church and have been busy coming up with things to make and then finding time to make them. It has been a productive time. Here is one of my newest creations. It is made from solid birch hardwood and painted black with gold lettering.
I'm also looking at other colors too.

Wow. It’s been a while since I have posted. Sorry about that. Many of you know that I also do photography and that it is calendar season. I thought I could multitask and do the calendar stuff and woodworking in my spare time, but no.

I still don’t have my website up and running yet, but I want to share and offer up a number of projects/creations I’ve completed. The first is a set of three wall hangings - Roots of Hope - Faith - Love.

These are individually unique since the materials are from up cycled furniture. These three pieces are from a the bed rails of a high end cherry bed frame. They measure 7” wide by 22”-24” tall.

The cost for the set is $85 including shipping. Let me know in the comments if you wish to purchase the set.

I do have some other pieces in this set that I will post a bit later. And I can and will make more. ~7 day lead time.
