I was featured in a article to comment on lab grown meat being approved for consumption in the U.S.

The company GOOD Meat is the 2nd company to receive FDA approval for their lab grown meat and restaurants are starting to commit to serving this lab-grown meat.

Lab-grown meats are not about health or sustainability. They are about profits.

There is no nutritional info available on these products. So why would we want to eat this, or order it in a restaurant?

Lab-grown meat companies market themselves as a more sustainable option than industrial beef production.

But a study from UC Davis concluded that the carbon footprint of cell-cultured meat could actually be worse than industrial meat production.

Here are the questions we need to be asking about lab-produced food:
- is this really nutritionally equivalent?
- how much energy input does it cost to run the labs to make this?
- what are the inputs, how are those grown or produced?
- is this supporting food sovereignty and food access?
