St. Barnabas Anglican Church
We are a new Anglican church plant in the Newnan area. St. Barnabas officially launched weekly services in January of 2022.
We are a sacramental, evangelical, charismatic church seeking to share the love of Jesus Christ!
From Archbishop Steve Wood:
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
In the midst of this time of uncertainty, social tensions, and violence please join Jacqui and me as we pray for peace in the United States tonight:
A little boy named Conner came up to me after church to show me his painting. “Fr. Joey, I painted this today. That’s a sheep. And that’s a wolf” he pointed out. Then he pointed to the figure in the middle and said, “And that’s Jesus. He laid down his life to protect the sheep and keep the wolf away.”
That is a million dollar piece of artwork right there!

Often times the Bible is challenging, and God’s Word contradicts the teachings and beliefs of the culture around us. When we face moments where scripture and culture clash, we cannot capitulate to the world, but must stand with the church’s historic belief that the Bible is our authority in our faith and our daily lives! The Anglican Catechism reads:
“Holy Scripture is “God’s Word written” (Articles of Religion, 20), given by the Holy Spirit through prophets and apostles as the revelation of God and his acts in human history, and is therefore the Church’s final authority in all matters of faith and practice. (Psalm 19:7–11; Jeremiah 36:1–8; 2 Timothy 3:14–17; Revelation 1:1–11)
We live in a time when Christian leaders are turning from the Bible, and attempting to define the Christian faith outside of Holy Scripture. St. Paul writes in his second letter to Timothy: “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” (2 Tim. 4:3-4) That time is now, and we must guard our hearts and minds!
My friends, I pray that each of us grow to love the sweet, precious words of Holy Scripture. We must strive to understand all scripture, even the difficult passages, in light of Jesus, and with the wisdom of the whole council of the Church. I challenge each of you to open your Bibles daily, ask for the Holy Spirit’s guidance, look to the Church’s historic teachings, and allow God to speak to you through the revelation of his Word!
Interested in growing deeper in your prayer life? Join us for a morning of prayer, teaching, and fellowship! Wear comfortable clothes, and bring a Bible and journal! 9:00 AM - 12:00PM this Saturday at St. Barnabas Anglican Church
St. Barnabas launched weekly services 19 months ago in January of 2022. God has been moving in our midst since day one, and today was another amazing time of worship: Baptisms, Confirmations, and Receptions along with the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the clear gifts of the Holy Spirit at work, and the celebration of Holy Eucharist. Grateful for Archbishop Foley Beach and the whole St. Barnabas family!
St. Barnabas, I’ve seen this graphic posted a few times now and thought I would share. Let’s keep inviting our friends to come encounter Jesus with us!
