When creating this body of work, Heather began her own investigation into the medicinal benefits of the wood she was crafting. Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globules) sourced in South Africa, but endemic to southeastern Australia, is used in herbal remedies by creating an oil v***r with the leaves to relieve sinusitis and bronchitis when inhaled, and as a gargle to relieve a sore throat. ⁠

On the eve of our highly anticipated solo exhibition with Heather Zusman, we are excited to share this completed commission for our collector's home in Hawaii 🌴

Constructed of larch and ash veneer, this whirlwind of a composition is aptly named "Maelstrom". We worked closely with the collector to identify the exact wood tones and composition sizing and are so pleased at the final product.
