Thank you to everyone who attended today’s “topping off” ceremony, signifying the completion of the structural phase of the Surgical Pavilion at Hoag’s Sun Family Campus in Irvine. Firefighters, who face higher risks of melanoma due to their exposure to carcinogenic chemicals, received free skin cancer screenings. Dr. Steven Q. Wang, medical director of Dermatologic Oncology at Hoag, led the charge in early detection and prevention, screening more than 50 firefighters.
