Marina Sailing Newport Beach's US Coast Guard Licensed Captain's and ASA Sailing Instructors will train you to be competent and confident skippering 30+ foot sail boats from our exceptional fleet. In additional to becomming a qualified Bareboat Skipper you will be earning Internationally Recognized American Sailing Association Certifcations.

Enroll in the Complete Sailing Course within two weeks of completing your Introductory Lessons and we apply the cost you paid for the Introductory Lessons to the $795 Complete Sailing Course fee.

Join us for the 107th Annual Newport Beach Boat Parade and Ring of Lights; December 20 we will meet at 4:30 pm to board the boat and cruise the harbor for a spectacular light display on the waterfront homes. Following the harbor cruise view the parade form a preferred viewing point on the parade route followed by a fireworks display at 9 pm; Cost $55 per person member rate; $95 per person non-member. You may have heard of the recent storm, being an islander has its unique struggles. However, we can always find the silver lining, the beauty, and sense of astonishment out how lucky we are to be alive. We're looking for people who want to see whales! We have spots available for our Daysail on 25th January, from 10am-4pm, with Capt. Heinz, "The Dolphin Finder". Of course, we can't guarantee a sighting, but if you've seen the news the last few weeks, several different types of whale are migrating along the California coast between Long Beach and Dana Point right now, and we're right in the middle of this prime viewing area! Grays, humpbacks, and orcas have all been spotted recently, but there's no chance of seeing them from your living room! Cost is only $55 for members, and $75 for non-members for a 6-hour day aboard one of our best sailboats! Call us at 949-548-8900 if you'd like to come aboard!

I know that a lot of you enjoy taking trips out to Catalina, and most of you have no problem doing so, since all of our boats have GPS and you can navigate line-of-sight on a clear day. What happens, though, when that sudden fog bank rolls in, and you can't see your destination, especially if your GPS decides, at that moment, to tell you that you're currently sailing in Kansas City, MO? Can you confidently plot a compass course on a paper chart, and know how long it will take you to get home? If you have before, has it been a while? Could you use a refresher? We have room in our Basic Coastal Navigation class (Lesson 7 of the Complete Sailing Course) this Monday evening, January 12th, from 7-10pm.
